Confirmed Statement from Ian Penrose - 26/27

Yes, we've had a bad start to the season but look at the positives.
£16m + committed on incoming transfers, as mentioned earlier our previous transfer record broken. An excellent new pitch. An exciting takeover with the right people coming into the club to drive it forward.
The medium to long term future is very bright indeed. All will be well.

Yep, however in the past 4 hours we’ve seen people call out the players, manager, PR, Murphy, the takeover, Hemming’s clan, and the pitch so Penrose is now just a result of folk running out of things to blame.

If we can just shoehorn in Sodexo, the club shop, and the warm can’s of Guinness then we should then be all done for this week.

Devine and Mills should be shit hot in League One, so there's that too.
 
You can see why supporters are getting very nervous regarding this takeover. As stated the transfer budget has increased significantly but surely who is responsible for spending this money?

Ok Mr Penrose - high time you clarified the position on this ‘supposed’ takeover, which is close approaching the longest courtship in history ( or not) . Ever since the interest has been announced the playing form has plummeted. No one likes to work for a company with a takeover or new ownership suggested given the uncertainty that might bring to you own position. The current radio-silence is deafening to players, staff and supporters alike. In these circumstances you absolutely have the responsibility to clarify the situation . Might I remind you (1) w1 d1 lost8 .
If no one turned up at the next home game with implication of plummeting gate receipts they’d be entirely justified.

Anyone who actually cares anymore should be pushing FAN to get answers. FAN are supposed to work on behalf of the supporters. Email them and ask them to push for answers.


Then there is Preston Supporters Collective. An independent fan steering group. They are on facebook, twitter and the like.

Won't make a jot of difference. The club don't care what either of those groups have to say on important matters. They exist because they represent the bare minimum the club have to do for the fan engagement rules, and avoid them having to do things like fan forums where withholding information would be harder. This way, the club control everything, right down to when the minutes can be published and what is included for public release

Oh, I know all that, and you are bang on with it.
It’s absolute pointless posting complaints on here too. If you want to complain, complain to the right people.

The reason the majority of people don’t complain to those groups, is because they realise all the above.

Just look at the ‘Time for action’ campaign. The lads were stitched up big time. Hemmings went straight to the media and crucified them.

Did anything change? No did it fuck.
 
That statement has now become quite damning.

Lots about the takeover….his obvious main role.

But absolutely nothing about starting the season without signing any strikers, which is the real Achilles heel of our current plight.

It seems obvious now that the eyes of the owner and his 2 cohorts were not on the requirements for the season but on their exit strategy.

The complete failure to put together a competitive squad has I believe killed off the club.

They are probably still attempting to sell but I can’t see it happening, and that leaves them in an extremely difficult position.

Hemmings 2 main men have failed him miserably, what does he do?

He has been negligent in his stewardship of the club expecting the sale to go through, what does he do?

And the Hemmings clan are now left with an unsaleable club heading for league one with the obvious reality of a huge drop in income and a massive wage bill.

This is going to need some serious work to get out of this Craig and you’re 2 main men just aren’t up to it.

So what now ???
 
If I was buying PNE (I'm not!) I wouldn't want to broadcast every step of it to be honest. I've heard nothing from my usual source for about a month now but I think we would know if it had fallen through. Worrying times though on and off the pitch.

Quite possible.

I’m buying a shit football club heading for league 1 with a useless playing staff and a massive wage bill and I’m paying a shit load of money for the privilege.

I’d want that kept quiet to.

Since the start of this potential deal the goalposts have moved drastically, I can’t see it going through, but who knows, but I also can see the collapse of the purchase being very hard to deal with in Mr Penroses statement, if he’s still around that is…

I seem to recall Zedan speaking to the press way back as he was frustrated at progress, so he must be utterly fed up by now.

I just don't see how it remains an attractive purchase unless a huge discount is available.

Why would he want to keep quiet about it, surely he would want to make sure that the shit show that is going on at the moment is nothing to do with him?
