I think a very good rule of thumb would be posts that are child friendly.
This online safety act is an absolute minefield for the mods, right now.
We police that ourselves...... Swearing is allowed on here because lets be honest, which children are interested in reading what a load of old biggots spout? They really don't come anywhere near this gaff... Why would they?

Before I’m finally deleted. Can I, for clarity just say that I have not requested this or indeed requested anything except deletion.

It's not chilling at all, it's par for the course....

I reckon we all might be going out in a blaze of glory now some misguided clown just put his foot down.
"Your post in the thread Could this be the end of Trump? was deleted. Reason: Will let this one go but please don't take the piss".
That's the grown up reply I got when asking about where I'm now supposed to voice my concerns....

On a politics forum?
The one you've hamstrung?..... Or aren't you aware of this?

Then start one - definitely something that warrants discussion. It is a very ill-thought out act.Online safety act thread is needed

I thought you'd have some thoughts on this act big sepp, I look forward to seeing them. Then start one - definitely something that warrants discussion. It is a very ill-thought out act.
This is a Preston North End forum.
And I'm a North Ender who posts on both the Current Affairs and football forums....... What's your point?
If you want to talk politics and current affairs, there are specialist politics forums and places like Reddit better set up for that (or they have age verification procedures). They have their own legal experts aware of what is permissible under the new act, the funds to complete risk assessments, large mod teams, and the ability to fight cases. The law is ridiculous - but JK still has to work within it. And it can get very expensive very quicklyAnd I'm a North Ender who posts on both the Current Affairs and football forums....... The OSA means that the type of topics discussed in the News and Current Affairs threads which have today been deleted, leave the site owner exposed to the real possibility of fines or potentially time in prison.
Online discussion around topics highlighted in the OSA require specialist moderation, to ensure that the site that they are hosted on remains compliant. Unfortunately for you, you've got football fan volunteers such as myself who have neither the time, training nor inclination to moderate a politics forum.
By all means continue to debate these things, but unfortunately for the minority of posters who frequent the News and Current Affairs section regularly, they will have to be debated on another site.
Aim your anger at the OSA, not the owner of a website who is making difficult decisions for his community in order to stay on the right side of these laws.

This is ridiculous Sepp.... I was perfectly happy on here just like everyone else... Hand on heart other than ribbing have you witnessed a bloody thing on here that gets even close to law breaking?.... If you have then please point it out.
A tit has over reacted here .... And I'll wager they won't hold their hands up.

I know, I've been here since you were a nipper....
All joking aside, please point out a single thing that's been said by anyone on here that could be contrived as illegal?.....
OSA's a sleeping disorder by the way.
This has been discussed at length for a long time by all of the moderation team and closing these threads rather than the whole News and Current Affairs section was the decision made.A tit has over reacted here .... And I'll wager they won't hold their hands up.
But in any case, if you believe it to be an overreaction or not, do you think it is right that JK even take that risk?
