When are we going to sign a quality forward or just get someone on loan for a month to help with are promotion push?! I've never been convinced by Elliott, people say hes quick but hes far from that, gets out paced and out powered far too often. Parkin has been great at home but he gives us nothing away from home.

Hopefully Mellor will be back soon to lead the line.

I feel the strikers all have some good qualities, and when they are able to use them it seems to work 'OK'.

However I do not feel that we have a single striker that has enough of the various qualities needed to be a good '15-20 goals a season' striker.

We need strikers that can do more than that if we are to challenge for promotion. We need some real pace up top.

We were so poor yesterday as a team, but I agree with what you are saying the lack of strikers is concerning. Parkin is useless away from home and Elliott appears to be ineffective unless he comes off the bench. I'm not paniking however, it is concerning.

Yesterday Parkin had two players on him all game. A defender behind and a midfileder in front. This made it very difficult for him to get the ball or hold onto it.

Overall I would say the team are shit away from home which doesn't help Parkin either.

Apart from his game at Wolves Elliott hasn't really impressed me. He seldom gets in the game and can't hold onot the ball when he does. If Mellor is fit he would be my first choice.

Its down to the supply from the midfield, earlier in the season we had Mellor scoring a few, but it was and still is the contributions from SSL, Mawene, Jones, Nicholson, Wallace, Davidson that has kept the whole thing going.

Can you really see any of our current strike force getting 15 league goals this season??? Mellor if/when fit might get into double figures, the rest???

I would play Whaley up front, at least his inability to track back would cost us less in this role, and it might give an option to play balls forward quicker, he would have to anticipate knock downs from Parkin but surely this is now worth a try. Nicholson should go back to his early season role on the right with either Chaplow, Sedgwick or Davidson playing along side McKenna. I would love to see Carter take up a positive role in the side, but he just seems to stroll about, the odd flash of inspiration then disappears up his own ass.

Get the supply right and maybe Parkin, Brown and Mellor (when fit) can get a few goals, I have my doubts about Elliott being good enough though.

Same old story, its about time we cut our losses with Mellor and nobbed him off for a cut price fee.

On his day, very good. But 'his' day comes every 2/3 months so whats the point in flogging a lame horse.

Strikers not good enough! I'd say so. This is the worst bunch we've had since we got into the Championship. Not one of the has the quality of a Macken, Cresswell, Fuller, Nugent or even Healy.

and now the penny's finally dropped. What was I saying a few weeks ago about this being THE worst PNE forward line I've ever witnessed at this level.

Just compare the clowns we have now with what we've previously witnessed e.g.

Macken, Cresswell (in his prime for his first 2 seasons), Healy, Fuller, Abbott, Nugent. It really is an insult to our intelligence to subject us to the absolute crap we currently have.

Unfortunately the majority of PNE supporters are unintelligent blind faithers and accept whatever is served up to them without questioning why the product isn't of a high standard. 😱

Were these types of players not part of your great "trader policy", we must have received over £12m for this lot (Abbott was and still is shite)

For every Nugent there is a Mackail-Smith, and for every Macken there is a Pilkington🙄 both these players who you would have forced on the club have done nothing for weeks.

Sorry???????

What an arrogant (and deluded) person you are. No, we aren't 'unintelligent', we fully understand why the product isn't-consistently-of a high standard. Surely someone of your intelligence could sus it out? ;-)
