I suppose it depends on whether folk are picking what team they would like to see or one that they suspect the manager will pick.

You have to play Lang - 3 absolute poachers goals where he's been on the move against static defences.

If he does that consistently then he's going to prove a lot of people wrong

I completely understand the sentiment of course, but not a single one of our centre backs will be dominant in the air against him so the threat needs to be nullified in a more intelligent way for once. For me, this is one of the areas where Heckingbottom constantly comes unstuck. Our best way of combatting this kind of basic threat is to look after the ball much better ourselves, and completely cut off the supply into him. If a selection like Lindsay is made purely because the opposition player has someone powerful in the air we’re completely buggered.
