The king is back

The king is back

When it comes down to it, your poor boy is in hospital and the VERY LEAST that the local club can do is go and see him and his pals. It makes me so annoyed that these people who have been lucky enough to have their brains in their feet sometimes feel hard done by when their foot hurts.
Happy Xmas to you and yours.
No idea if this is his lad, but quality nonetheless

North End always make an effort visiting the childrens ward at RPH. They where there visiting when I was on the ward with my baby last year and my friends little boy has just been discharged today and he came home with a scarf, signed ball and various other merchandise.

What a nice pic - goes a small way towards restoring your faith in humanity.

Fair play to the club and its players for making that kind of effort.

Agreed, this is what football is supposed to be about.

I am proud of being a PNE supporter just because of that picture alone.

Some of these 'sightings' are utterly ridiculous. I don't see Davies coming back. He has too much to lose. If he comes back we all expect him to get us promoted...if he doesn't achieve that then where is he then? If he does achieve getting us promoted then some bigger club will just come and take him off us again so we'd be back at square one. However amazing it would be to have Billy back I think we need to try and go in a new direction. Not sure who I would want but I am going off the idea of Davies the more I think of it.

We have been in FOUR "new directions" since Billy left, and look where that has got us. Let's take the "old direction", the one where we had a team that usually fought hard every game under Billy Davies, and was very hard to beat.

No this is not my son! My lads condition has always prevented the players seeing or giving him anything! The irony was on Wendnesday when my wife had my son in hospital I was in town with my 6 month old son and Iain Hume and Conor Mcloughlin where passing me so I stopped them to ask about there reaction to Brown's sacking they were 2 very friendly approachable guys! The irony is my lad loves Iain Hume and I'd love to get him a new Iain Hume numbered signed shirt! My lad being back in hospital again missed the chance to see him! My lad will be jealous though as Humey took a nosey in at my 6 month old son and gave him a smile! I apologised to both of them for stopping them in the street but they where both so friendly and approachable!

That's a nice story and, to be fair to PNE (and I think most football clubs), I think they do their share of hospital-visits etc. Often it goes unreported.

edit... I know it wasn't you who said they didn't

I'd just read through quite a few posts on the thread... then made my own point - which was originally just the top two lines - and was really a comment to you and to the earlier one by beejaylee.

I immediately hit the edit button and added the last line, because I realised it looked like I was talking just to you. It seems I just added to the confusion 😱

The return of" King Billy"?

The return of" King Billy"?

Seems to have lost momentum. Everything has gone quiet at Deepdale & his odds at the bookies have gone way out. For me Davies return after the sacking of Brown would have been the perfect Xmas present. I'm not so sure we're going to get anybody, as I think Grezza & Unsworth will be given a half dozen games to prove their worth. Which isn't so bad, but it's like asking for a bike at Xmas & getting a skateboard. 🙁

I have to confess I have been completely sucked into the whole Billy's coming back! I'm beginning this morning to have a reality check as even now much as part of me wants to believe I've got to wake up & smell the coffee!! Looking at the odds this morning if the 2 favourites are Ian Bogie & Garry Flitcroft, I'd sooner keep Alexander or Unsworth in the job! Looking at the list of candidates and their odds you begin to see how low we've come! As a lifelong fan all this really hurts!!

Maybe an announcement just before the Q&A next wednesday would be perfect stage management!
