In fairness, neither of the people 'offended' reported it, so all that could be discussed was your wish for it to be deleted. As others have stated because people were already discussing the thread it then becomes an issue of moderating peoples posts who wanted their view to stay. It's a thin line as it shows. I only saw the outcome but from reading the discussion and the views on what should be done, I think the action was correct personally. If there had been other reports that maybe would have changed it, but in isolation and as the thread was ongoing that choice of action was taken. Sometimes mods get decisions right, sometimes they maybe don't. On balance, and with the info at hand, I'd say the action the mods involved took was right and something I would have sided with.

The confusion came about because you only spoke about PMing people. So why is it so offensive if you don't have paedophile sympathies? Maybe you should grow a bit of a backbone and stand by your opinions or just apologise and be done with it instead of trying to hide them away when you're embarrassed you've made a tit of yourself and then drag it up yourself .Also, it was you that started having a go at the mods when they did exactly what you asked them to do. Strange behaviour!

The ironic thing about this bunch of mods (6 out of the 7 or 8 oddball nobodies who put themselves forward) are probably the best this site has ever had. WIBG was great and would have fitted in well with this lot too. I also agree that as long as we have a house of lords then certain green mods should be untouchable, just to give stability. (do they have their own port drinking smoking jacket forum?)
Their strengths are that they haven't been tapped up by certain larger than life posters on the supporters bus and as such remain impartial. Also, they don't seem to be quite so sensitive that they would overreact to varoius opinions, and rather use their nous and wit by guiding threads in the right direction.
