The race for places

The race for places

I never knew we were 11 points behind Bristol City.

Worrying.

Only six behind 2nd with two games in hand though, albeit Swindon also have one game in hand too. Like you, I didn't realise that Bristol City are so far in front though.

I also forgot that Wolves got past the 100 points mark last season. Quite a feat.

12 wins has to be the aim. 12 wins & 5 losses - roughly 3 wins for every loss. That is a tall order but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. We simply have to take it a game at a time and not look too far into the future, otherwise it all becomes a bit overwhelming. We start with Scunny tomorrow where 3 points is a must, but will not be an easy task. COYW

The good thing looking at that. At the bottom, the average points for safety is 50 points. Assuming its the same in the championship: Blackpoo, as of tonight, can reach a maximum of 55 points. 2 more games and law of averages says theyre gone 🙂

The average will be lower in the championship.

4 go down in our division and only 3 in the championship.

Think the average is about 46 points.

All very interesting BUT if we win more games than those below us we WILL be promoted. Can we do that? Absolutely. Game in hand as well as hitting form at just the right time.

Nicely nestled into 6th spot. Wonder if Simon Grayson uses this as motivation to spur the team on to race up there as quickly as possible... I think its a brilliant way to look at chasing down points rather than looking at the more comfortable looking league table.

Greetings to all at Deepdale 😀. Bristol City fan popping by in peace just to say that we are pleased at AG to see you hanging on to our wing mirrors in the dash for promotion !!! Tho we would prefer it if you could just drop back a gear ! Lol as we would dearly love a title, just once !

Have great respect for PNE as a club and for your supporters - fate has seen us in promotion at each other's grounds and I also recall PNE fans applauding and wishes us good luck at AG on the final day , prior to our Championship Play Offs 6 - reeeeespect

A genuine warmth towards PNE at AG amongst fans I know so really looking forward to the run in and particularly our game at Deepdale.

I'm sure we will bring a good following , in good heart, and with respect for PNE and I have a feeling the game and atmosphere could be a cracker.

I guess if we sell our allocation the gate could be a big one - if you keep the heat on is there any real chance of a sell out / near to sell out ?

I've seen us pulled apart at Deepdale on a few occasions over the years and I can see a scenario where you gain a valuable 3 points to see you over the auto line but the defeat doesn't cost us that long awaited title !!

I'll take that !! Lol

Good Luck (ish 😛),! On the run in , don't feel it impolite to drop the odd point just to keep us breathing easy lol and we look forward to our April Vist 😀

Beat Franchise and your neighbours to give us a bit of breathing space. Good luck to you too.

SuperBob, what a lovely post. If I sent Xmas Cards, you'd be on my list. It's folk like you that keep football enjoyable. A will to win, yet still wishing us the best of luck. It's a shame I don't know you, else I'd have happily bought you a pint on our head-to-head match.

Not like those twats from down the M55.

Thanks Norts - Funny how fate can influence clubs relations - we all have our rivals and clubs we 'spark' with but there are others where the respect & rapport grows - can't think of another club amongst fans I know that we seem to have a mutual respect for above PNE.

Having followed us since 71 I'm desperate to see us to win a League but tbh I'd like to see the players win the league for themselves and the manager - I'm not sure how many City fans , the younger ones especially quite realise what a cracking set of players SC has assembled. , decent ability and try and play the right way , behave on and off the pitch and by all accounts are a set of near model professionals - a side to be proud of in more ways than one and any supporter of any years of any club will know , sadly how rare that can be.

I am confident that your firepower and your support will see you reasonably comfortably to promotion - it's funny how we are never as confident in our own side and it's only the last couple of weeks that the majority of City fans are just starting to believe we might get promoted ! Lol where %90 of other clubs fans see / saw us as 'up'

I have nothing against MK tbh - some decent supporters - and I am disgusted by the antics of the current Swindon side, not just against us but, it appears in the majority of their games this season so I hope they crash and burn !! They are one side that I wish no luck at all.

( Kathryn - We do have the cheats to play but are done with MK)

It's you with us for me , both in terms of what I am pretty confident will happen and I'd like (I'll get shouted at but I'd like MK to win POs)

Ironically you may get a more exciting run in and experience than we will as you cruise up thro the gears in the last quarter of the season

Being top or near top all year has been an unusual and very privileged few months for us Cider heads !

Let's all enjoy the ride ! better than nail biting around the bottom four !
