So is calling a male ref - some who was 'Born out of Wedlock' - acceptable? All I will say is, some people have let the club down on Twitter with the vile comments made. Calling her a S**g, because she had a bad game is bang out of order.
Positive action yes, positive discrimination not.Positive action is legal ie allow additional help to be provided for groups with a protected characteristic such as sex or race.
All referees need a thick skin she will need it to be even thicker. So is calling a male ref - some who was 'Born out of Wedlock' - acceptable?
Of course not.... but calling him a "Lad who puts it about " or " Bit of a Ladies Man" doesn't cut it , either. Those expressions of address meaning that their morals are, er "liberal" are exceptable , in the right setting.
I suppose S**g is simply the equivalent, for women.
They are all meant to upset the person who you are addressing, from the 'safety' of the crowd.
And if she can't stand the heat, as per a male ref not being able to take the crowd calling him a Ba***Rd - they should pack it in.
And she should pack it in , for not addressing the Wednesday goalkeeper, who was clearly taking the p**s out of her.
They not even comparable. a S**g is someone that Sleeps around, not someone born out of wedlock. S**g is gender specific where as B***ard is Gender Neutral. B***ard has several meanings. He's/she's a Lying B***ard or cheating B***ard etc an despicable act or term for out of Wedlock. So is calling a male ref - some who was 'Born out of Wedlock' - acceptable?

And that is how female officials have been given opportunities.Positive action yes, positive discrimination not.
Yes some odd decisions but some people are fixated by gender. Disgusted also by sexist chants.
Their keeper was booked for that, but could have easily had a 2nd for the timewastingThere were a few yellows she missed, Bannons foul on Browne, a late challenge on Whatmough, a rugby tackle on Millar and Mads being pulled back to prevent a break. She had no interest in stopping the timewasting , choosing to turn her back instead, I thought there was a directive to speed the game up? The bookings for Ched and Potts were hardly showing dissent and she was too far away to hear what they said, if anything. She didn’t book the Wednesday keeper when he ran 40 yards to confront her after the red card.
It wasn’t picked up by the camerasHavent properly seen it back, but the red card looked an abysmal, rush of blood to the head type of decision
No he was booked for running off with the ballTheir keeper was booked for that, but could have easily had a 2nd for the timewasting
Evans wasn’t cautioned, their keeper was for a combination of the incident you mention and time wasting. Osmajic chased after her showing clear dissent and Potts was jumping up and down in front of the linesman - both totally justified cautions. There were a few yellows she missed, Bannons foul on Browne, a late challenge on Whatmough, a rugby tackle on Millar and Mads being pulled back to prevent a break. Delaying the re start of play, cautinable offence duly implemented. No he was booked for running off with the ball
I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear ...I'm sure we both knew this. My poor sentance construction, then. They not even comparable. a S**g is someone that Sleeps around, not someone born out of wedlock.
Yes, agreed, hence my then going on about 'Ladies Man' & 'Putting it around a bit' - being the male equivalent of a woman with rather Liberal mores. A S**g. But there will always be S**gs. And B****rds. And enen the relatively mild "Ladies Man" ( not that this expression would even become popular, because it sounds so awkward - even if it IS the direct male equivalent of a S**g ! )S**g is gender specific
All true ...and crowds saying that to refs is an established 'custom' . And this kind of abuse probably gets shown to boxing & wrestling referees AND to the two competitors as well.where as B***ard is Gender Neutral. B***ard has several meanings. He's/she's a Lying B***ard or cheating B***ard etc an despicable act or term for out of Wedlock.
I didn't hear any chants on the invincible stand but a few sexist comments where made. That is disgraceful if true…..
Right, No one is calling Referee Ladies Man. Calling him a w*nker, in slang means he can't be trusted. It also means someone who masturbates and so on. However, I would also call out people that called a Referee a Racist term, a term about their sexual orientation or calling them a term that is calling him a male/female s**g. Calling one a slang term, meaning untrusting, means just that, you find them un-trustable. You don't, can't find their judgement trusting. This is why the Chant the Referee a w*nker has never been questioned, because of it's meaning in slang and wouldn't stand up in court. There is no need for the S word, no matter how bad or biased she may have been. Calling her a w*nker, would be the same as calling a male referee one, you find them un-trustable. But moving on, some have crossed a line and its been called out. Don't do it.I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear ...I'm sure we both knew this. My poor sentance construction, then.

Possibly all at the same time !
