Surprised no one has started a thread about her. Probably the worst refereeing performance at deepdale I’ve ever seen and there has been some horrific ones.

She never kept up with play, had her back turned to play and seemed like she felt dishing out yellow cards would help her control the game.

It’s quite clear she only got to manage a prem game because it was a box ticking exercise by the FA. She’s nowhere near good enough.

She was poor but I wouldn’t say the worst, although she is certainly up there amongst them.

She actually started off OK, Bannan should have been booked for the foul on Browne and from then on in, got worse, Potts being run through with a rusty broadsword was apparently a dive, missing an obvious corner, Mads was taken out as he was going for a ball, she missed that as she wasn't looking, had the feeling she was guessing at the end. Mind you as bad as she was, we were worse.

Can't beat a bit of fast-tracking! Always improves quality eh @California_PNE

Premier League Chief of Referees Howard Webb was also very complimentary about Allison along with Rebecca Welch, who is set to become the Premier League’s first female referee, when he spoke to Sky Sports.

He said: "I'm excited to see the appointment of Rebecca Welch to her first Premier League referee's appointment and, on Boxing Day, we'll see Sam Allison taking charge of his first game.

"They're both part of the PGMOL's development group. It's an initiative tied into the elite referee development plan, which has been in place for a couple of years now to fast-track talented officials to the pathway.

They're both from groups that are not traditionally represented in the Premier League officiating cohort and hopefully it might inspire other people to give it a go."

Yes well I wish they had fast tracked her elsewhere.

As poor as she was, the liner on the Finney side was worse. Missed at least three clear offsides, Potts’ being poleaxed and not helping at all when Mads was fouled and the ref had her back turned. Wasn’t keen to give throw ins too given the regular shouts from the Kop and Town End!

One thing I did admire though was her ability to deal with dissent. If more were like her, it would be eradicated from the game quickly… that said, we got three bookings this way as a result of her mistakes!

The linesmen did very little to support her all evening, in particular the incident you referenced when one of them must have seen it - she was following play so it’s natural she’ll have missed the actual incident. As I’ve said elsewhere, the dissent was petulant and deservedly all got booked, I just wish more referees would do the same.

The big issue was her reluctance to take action against the time wasting, especially as the opposition were doing it and not us 😄 We were talking about it during the game because obviously most teams do it when winning away and it needs something doing about it from above, with all teams being told it’s unacceptable and being warned of what action will be taken - and carry through the threats. Their goalkeeper was spending upwards of 20 seconds with ball in hand, something that is punishable by a free kick in the area. They’d soon stop if that started happening.

A pretty poor performance I admit but without raking through old ground I can think of worse.
Started off decently and I felt she was trying to let the game flow but as I said elsewhere her standard decreased as the the game went on.

A weak and poor performance by the referee and if that was a regular performance should not be reffing at this level.

Let Bannan get away with raking his studs down Browne's leg having played advantage. Maybe couldn't remember who did it?

Told one of the Sheffield players being substituted to leave the field on the Finney side and he ignored her and strolled to the dugout. She should have booked him.

Thought she often had her back to the play and was too far behind the play at times. If she wants to be a top referee must do a lot better.

She seemed to get the yellow out so she could gain her breath.

She'd had enough. She refreshingly allowed physicality and the game to flow and continue which is a relief when most refs whistle whenever anyone falls over. Maybe tended to be over lenient on occasion but Id rather it that way. Bring back the 1970s I say. Instead, we now have Grealish. The modern tart falling over his hairband.

She was pretty horrendous but not anywhere close to Trevor Kettle levels of shit.

Even in the first half when people on the match day thread were praising her, there were at least 3 occasions where an obvious advantage could’ve been played and she blew the whistle immediately. Just no game sense whatsoever.

No place for sexist chants for sure. If the ref is shite, as they almost always are at our level, call them shite - whether they’re a lad or a lass is irrelevant. It’s certainly not her fault she has been fast-tracked too quickly, and if any of us were in her shoes as that call came in, I doubt we’d have said no either.

Props to her for stepping up, but she’s evidently nowhere near the level yet.
