So it is! (hidden as you say). I know that many people are also using the same workaround as me because the evidence is frequently visible when they (or I) have forgotten to delete previous unwanted content, or forgotten to delete the full stop in the top line of a post.
Anyway I would think that a Cancel button is what anyone would expect- and hopefully it is a relatively simple job to create a Cancel button, seeing as the function is available from the menu.
In the meantime, I will use that menu option thanks. 👍

The Xenforo team see it as being an adequate solution also sadly. If you delete the text in the box the draft is saved every few seconds. A little green dot appears on the logo when a draft is being saved
So if you then just delete what you don't want to post within a few more seconds your draft will be blank again (or delete it). The issue with software like this is you either rely on Xenforo to pick up the functionality or someone writes an add on you have to pay for.

How odd! Amazing that they put the Cancel button there for post-edit mode and not for the far more important function of writing a post. Thanks anyway. I will remind you again in about 12 months when I have forgotten all about this clarification!
It still seems to be linked to apple devices cutting and pasting images vs uploading them to the post from the photo library. Can't figure if it's Apple misrepresenting the size of the image or something hence xenforo adds a border. Can't recreate it yet

Thanks for investigating @jakehake - tbh I didn’t understand what you actually did until Sid clarified. I did notice the same issue from another user last night. I think on the MDT.
I also have a vast repertoire.
If you save the image on Sid’s post and then upload it through the attachment function does it get the border?

Yes Jake. Saving images to my photo library is the workaround I have been using since you suggested it previously!
