Okay, while there could well be more deals done and I've got my fingers crossed we get someone else in, couldn't help but notice fellow Championship strugglers Scunthorpe have managed to sign joe Garner on loan from Forest. This is a lad who I saw play a few times in his Carlisle days and he is exactly the natural finisher who would completment Hume's industry and graft up front.

And then there's Keogh, not massively popular at his current club and now on loan at BC. This lad seems to have brilliant games at Deepdale against us in the past. A really good player at this level.

I can't say I'm not disapointed 2 clubs no bigger than ourselves have managed to make the signing of Leon Clarke look a bit humble on our part. As well as that I find the talks with Iwelumo bizarre. Either we need another striker or we don't. Approaching one who is clearly out of our wage bracket strikes me as a bit of PR by the club who can now say, "well, we tried (shrug shoulders)."

Why would we want someone like that when Leon Clarke was available.

That's what I thought; They knew full well that his wage bracket would brake our salary cap. They might as well have put a bid in for Rooney.

Keogh has been one of that group of players (too large a group!) who always seem to score against us - and now he has gone to Bristol City, saturday's opponents

I wouldn't have minded us signing Garner at the start of the season, but no goals in 16 appearances on loan at Huddersfield this season, a team where good strikers should score plenty of goals considering the amount of chances they create, isn't very promising. I had a look at a Huddersfield forum a few weeks ago and their fans really didn't rate him, criticising his work rate as much as the lack of goals.

I wouldn't mind Keogh but his goalscoring record is poor, 44 in 231 games, although he's probably better playing up front with a poacher like Billy Sharp, a kind of player we don't possess. I doubt we had much chance of getting him as Bristol City will be paying all his wages, whilst we could only manage the first 5k.

Main player I would have liked to see here is Frank Nouble. Just signed on loan for Barnsley and is exactly the type of player we need.

p.s. Hope I'm completely wrong and he looks shit tomorrow whilst Clarke bags a hat-trick for us!

He has had a LOT of stick on here I suppose and it's normally those players who prove everyone wrong. Fingers crossed we are talking about him as the saviour come the end of the season.

I've seen Garner a few times for Forest. He's gash

Seriously? 7 goals in 19 games when he joined them. Lost his way a bit last season but whenever I saw him he looks lethal. The fact you've compared him to Karl Hawley when he is a completely different style of striker suggests to me you might be telling porkies.

I wasn't comparing their style, just the fact that they are both ex Carlisle and commenting on whether they are good enough to play in the championship. Neither of them are, but at least Hawley works hard

I don't think they are that clever.
I think everyone who comes in gets put in front of Magic who believes he can talk them into playing for peanuts.
Unfortunately for us, most players don't take his bullshit on (unlike most of our fans)

Now that Leicester have signed another striker I would hope we are back in for waghorn, but sadly I expect Mo has run out of peanuts.
