So if I’ve got my Maths right, that’s 5 goalkeepers, 11 defenders, 9 midfielders, 7 attacking midfielders and 6 forwards (33 in total) of which 19 are potentially out of contract in the next 6 months. Somebody has one hell of a job to sort out which contracts to renew. There are some big names still not signed up beyond this season - Bauer and Barkhuizen being the standout ones and worryingly just one goalkeeper left in contract by June.

Is it that big a job though? The majority are young players, some will probably be kept, others won't.

Squad players like Hunts and Rafferty will probably move on.

You've only really listed Bauer and Barkhuizen as needing sorting asap. The keeper situation one to keep an eye on particularly with Rudds recent injury issues.

Hopefully keep Bauer but possibly another exit. No idea about the 1st/ 2nd year pros.

A chance for some serious rebuilding in the summer. I make that about 16 senior pros remaining.

Our best bet at the mo is seeing if Weatherfield County fancy him on loan for the rest of his contract. Maybe the heir to Mike Baldwin’s underwear company can do a Voldemort and stump up the cash for his wages.

You could, but they are players who have a chance of playing for the team when others are injured, suspended etc.

I named only Thomas and Brown as my understanding is we will not see either of them this season.

We have some very serious problems to address. Not just replacing some of the players who must leave in June, but our overall strategy. Plus our doling out of contracts to players who aren't delivering. It's a mess of mediocrity and ineffectiveness. I am personally very angry at how much money we waste.

Why dont we buy effective players once, instead of crocks and shite three times over, and that's before new contracts to players not delivering.
