Not many of those are what you'd call key players though.
Based on how they've been used recently, you could probably say it's a 50:50 split:

Key
Jordan Storey
Patrick Bauer
Andrew Hughes
Tom Barkhuizen
Brad Potts
Scott Sinclair

Not key
Matthew Hudson
Connor Ripley
Paul Huntington
Joe Rafferty
Jack Baxter
Ethan Walker

Fair lists. However, I'd suggest that of the 6 key players, very few of them will be being actively sought after by other clubs. Therefore, giving us ample time and opportunity to sort the contracts out.

Well Ripley never has been and neither has Rafferty though to be fair he has at times been useful. Huntington of course has been massive and might yet have one last season where he is at least still useful. As for Hudson, Baxter and Walker well we will just have to wait and see.

So now the transfer window is closed, we now know the squad we have until January, i make it 29 players, 4 of which wont be registered in the 25 man squad, id guess at Ripley, Huntington, Brown and Thomas being the ones to miss out which means paying wages for 4 players who can only play in reserve games, we really needed to get rid of some of the fringe players even if it meant loaning them out for minimal wage contributions

GK
Rudd, Iverson, Ripley, Hudson

DF
Sepp, Cunningham, Bauer, Lindsay, Storey, Rafferty, Hughes, Olosunde, Huntington, Earl

MF
Whiteman, Browne, Harrop, Johnson, Ledson, Brown, Barkhuizen, Potts, Mcann, Murphy

FW
Evans, Riis, Maguire, Sinclair, Thomas

We have the makings of a good team here now, confident taking on other Championship sides. Personally I can't wait to see the new lads in action. Hope crowds get behind them and give support.

It's good that a couple of signings which sound decent have come in under the radar when the vibes were that nothing would happen.
Our transfer dealings in the last 3/4 seasons have been mixed and hopefully this signals a new era of better quality recruitment.

Did someone say that McCann will take up a space in the 25?
Why is that when he is 21?
