O.K. so some of the names currently being mentioned are not the most inspiring but they have experience of the Championship and hopefully! the knowledge of how to grind out some wins to get us out of our dire situation. I'm afraid now is not the time to play a team full of children.

In fact Fibber I've just checked this one out about Clarke. I was told he went to Orient last season for trials. That being the Leyton Orient one division below us. He was sent back as he was judged to be crap!

Would we consider buying a player for a club? Just might do that because dosh in the bank is as inept as our club is. Would not however buy the youngster for PNE as Brown would destroy any youngster he comes into contact with i.e. Mayor. To drop him after the Forest game was appallingly bad management.
In any event Brown doesn't want youngsters. He wants to throw away Trevor Hemmings' money on ageing has beens who are now at the end of their career and where better to finish off that last pay day than at good old PNE. It's been the last resting place for many moribund players over the last half century.In fact I suppose Deepdale has become a retirement home.

You will, I'm sure, be able to provide proof of that ;-) It does sound a bit unlikely though-he was at Wednesday last season, and was eventually signed by a Championship club, so why would he go 'for trials' with Leyton Orient? I'm sure you can prove me wrong, in which case, hands up, but you've made that up, haven't you? ;-)

Voldemort, why on Earth would you be unhappy to sign Iwelumo on loan (which is all it would be as he is on £10k a week plus at Burnley)?
I am not a fan of Underwhelmo one bit, believe me (mainly because you have to focus your entire team around him, i.e, long ball dirge, and it makes for such a static, immobile frontline - one of the key reasons Laws bit the bullet is because he could not see this) but he has one thing that you currently don't - goals.
If you are willing to sacrifice style over substance, and in your position I am sure you are, he will get you enough goals to at least give you a fighting chance. He is awful to watch, and I didn't believe I would see a slower player than Leon Cort, but he DOES exist! Like I say though, he does get goals. I would be quite happy to see him as a bench warmer at Burnley, just as an option because he does scare defenders with his size, no doubt about that.
He is just not what Eddie wants at all though, dropped him the moment he came in and I assume has told him that he doesn't feature in his plans. It would be a really good move for you, I feel, if you can manage to get him on loan. He would guarantee you 8-10 goals before the season is out. Sounds like Brett Angell, Burnley 1882, & I seem to remember his goals helped us to promotion to the Championship back in the day. If Big Chris could do a similar job in keeping us up, then why would any PNE fan be against it? Some of our fans really are half-wits, & that's being kind.

Think Ashbee would do a job just so we have someone who can actually get stuck in, badly lacking in the current team. Iwelumo can do a job at this level, already proven. Never any chance of signing Austin period. Would really like M.Johnson aswell, was one hell of a player before his injury.
