Carter and Mellor based on the money we paid, the salaries they were allegedly on and the subsequent performances have been disasters, the common thread is both came from prem clubs with primadona attitudes.
I would prefer someone from the 1st division with a point to prove and some hunger in their belly and would be happy with a reasonable salary (aka nugent)
that way we settle the debts, entertain the crowd and hopefully build a team fit for the prem rather than carrying a lot of overpaid individuals who feel they can ride the distance on past momentary glories.

We could sign Wayne Brown (free) + Richie de Laet (loan) + Craig Morgan (say £350k) and still have masses left from the sale of SSL to strenghten other areas of the team. Sell Parkin as well for £500k and the same applies.

Spot on, now when St Ledger was first loaned to Boro, I was disapointed I must admit.

However his attitude and comments made since his move to celtic collapsed and his form where poor at best.

I think that any offer near the 3 million mark, we have no choice but to take the money and move on.

I would hazzard a guess with the quietness of his family on the forum at the moment, would mean bugger all is going on, they are normally on bigging him up.

As for Parkin, he would be the sriker I would keep out of the lot, but for a fee of £600,000 that is on offer, I don't see how we can turn it down.

This is a massive re-building job, a new era, a new PNE, and a new start for everyone.

Thankfully we have the chance of having a new start, we could easily of not had a football club to support.

he was poor no doubt - was he struggling with injuries or was his head not right - the season before he cleaned up all the awards - so I will give him another chance to come good again

He was one of the few whose performances did pick up.

Don't think he was force out though, as we know, that's impossible.

I really struggle to fathom in what ways his game improved? 40 yard shots that nearly hit the corner flag, several needless bookings for shouting at refs, a total lack of assists and work rate. He was as bad as anybody in my opinion. In fact I hope he takes his end of season form into his Burnley career, he'll be fucking useless.

I agree you can't really force players out these days though, look at Carter FFS.
