very unlucky not to take a point. Sub was unfortunate timing. We should have had 1 goal ourselves by then though at least. We lack a killer touch and a trick or two to beat that defence. Tonge seemed to work ok. Some positives, but a point was merited.

Played alright tonight against a team on paper that looks better in every department... beat ourselves in the second half with poor finishing and some bad decisions in the final third. Putting Parkin on, we seemed to lose shape in midfield and so finished weak...
Not upstaged though in the slightest and taking form like this into the next game we stand a good chance to turn our form around

Tongue without doubt was our best player but you could see his frustration with the lack of PNE movement and options in front of him.

If there is any particular merit in achieving a 0-0 draw then North End went close to achieving it. But I think the fans deserve more from their team at home.
North End are the Everton of this division. Pretty much a pointless member of the league, guaranteed to sit in mid table all season, prattle on about "survival".
This involves paying absolutely no attention to any aspect of the game beyond the half way line and in opponent territory.
Chris Brown limps around like a disney monkey, Mellor is head down going-nowhere-fast useless after one touch. Sedgwick is at best a 4th division footballer.
The tactical acumen across the second flight is so anal that the grass is turning brown. Competitive football it may be but its utterly devoid of attacking incident.
Nugent's a good player though, as is Graham Alexander. And Fuller ain't bad either.

we cannot score and dont look like doing admttedly but credit the lads at the back, without them we would be fucked. we start looking good going forwards and things will change but we are a solid outfit, get some pace and it will change.
However dont discredit the whole team because we are shit up front
