Of those three I don't know enough about the lad at Southampton but the port vale player is one that I have read about before.

As for Nolan then whilst fergie is still manager that doesn't ever look like happening so we need an alternative to Pugh?

Personally I have no issue with tonge or cort who both give valuable experience to a team sadly lacking in it. I was never a massive fan of Pugh the first time around but I will reserve judgement until I witness him on Saturday.

As for Voldemort claiming the signing of Wayne Brown is a bad one I think you really dont know what your on about. Its all well and good having someone who can play pretty football from the back. Brown has been immense since he seems to be finding proper fitness. So to has Russell, Add to that Cort who lets be honest is a carbon copy of brown in many ways. So in the heart of defence we have 2 No nonsence defenders who aint afraid to stick there boot through the ball to relieve pressure rather than play a risky pass into an over run midfield. Russell gets better game by game and it come as no surprise to me that it was him breaking up cardiffs play and making beaks forward.

Sorry, returned to edit my previous post to suggest Marc Tierney at Colchester as an alternative to Nolan for Pugh's replacement.

Exactly, the players I'm suggesting (Tierney, Collins, Richardson) are all potential permanent signings, I'm not advocating getting any of them on loan.

A few hundred thousand for each should suffice so these deals taken individually are comparable with Morgan who it seems was within our budget. The key thing with these players is they are quality signings but would not break the bank in terms of wages. Contrast that with the likes of Tonge who we expect to take a 50% drop in salary (minimum) to come here or Morgan and Russell who are absolute donkeys.

As for Parillon ? So he's now at Clitheroe. Why ? Because he was completely mishandled by Simpson and ace cretin Billy Barr. That, old numpty chops, is how you do destroy potential or are you telling me Billy Davies didn't know what he was talking about when he waxed lyrical about the lad in a full back page spread in the LEP ? That he had the "IT" factor was not in question. He had an attitude problem and that should have been sorted which is why managers are paid £500K a year.

Finally as for Wayne Brown ? Sorry Mark you can't convince me. Meanwhile Elliott Ward, who we all slated, has apparently been in good form at Norwich. We could have had in on a free. Instead we threw away £400K on the truly incompetent Morgan!

tbf, we slated him because he was gash. if we'd signed him on the strength of his loan it would have been ludicrous.

Some players just dont settle at some clubs. simple.
