I was only following the media updates but sounded like he was putting in a real shift at the back with some good blocks. Think he got tactically subbed off for a forward player with 15 to go as we pushed to get back in the game at 3-1 down. Not much footage of the game around, but there's a little clip here

Saw Josh Muir play for the first time the other night so thought I'd bump up this thread as it's followed his progress over the years.
For those who don't keep up with the loan watch thread Josh is now a 2nd year scholar and has been on loan at Longridge for a couple of months.
He's a very tall lad, arguably the tallest on the pitch when he played at Charnock on Tuesday, even though he was probably the youngest player on the pitch. There's not many lads who can play week in week out in senior football at 17/18 so he's definitely handling the physical side of it well and if he fills out a bit could well have a career in football so be interesting to see how he develops. Left-footed centre back and developing his long-throw.
If Preston NE don't offer him a deal as an under 21 in the summer then another club will do on size and experience at Longridge alone but still one to keep an eye out for.

Thanks for that, he has enjoyed it a Longridge, says it was hard, he plays his last match on Saturday. He played every single game for the full 90 minutes, think Lee Ashcroft was pleased with him. Just needs to carry it on now back at Springies. Think it’s this year he finds out if he’s going to get a Pro Contract. 🤞🤞🤞Saw Josh Muir play for the first time the other night so thought I'd bump up this thread as it's followed his progress over the years.

I remember playing against Carlisle on that exact pitch in a pre-season friendly.

He was given the run around by Jordan Darr on Tuesday, an experienced old school number 9 who's been in non-league for about a decade, but that will have taught him far more than playing against kids his own age. Thanks for that, he has enjoyed it a Longridge, says it was hard, he plays his last match on Saturday. I was wondering how long he was going to stay at Longridge as two months is quite long for one of our youth players to be sent out on loan.

It was initially a month but it got extended, not sure why.He was given the run around by Jordan Darr on Tuesday, an experienced old school number 9 who's been in non-league for about a decade, but that will have taught him far more than playing against kids his own age.

Well to bring you and update, sadly it wasn’t to be. He’s still made me proud and I hope he gets another chance somewhere else. It’s been fun while it lasted. I’m sad for him. But it is what it is.

Hopefully he can step into a Fulwood Ams or similar set up.

Good luck Josh wherever you end up and whatever you end up doing
Assume if the youth team have now been informed of their futures, we might get the official retained list fairly soon?
Such a hard business for lads that are little more than children.
It really does spit out so many youngsters and their dreams.
Best of luck to him for the future.

I hope that you find a club for him soon.
Best of luck to the young man.
Already done more as far as dreams go than 99% of us on here.
No shame in being released.
