on my way home from work i thought i would pop down and see who was about at the training ground. the team were practicing shooting and crossing. unsuprisingly the shooting looked a little woeful. from the edge of the box they were picking them out of the trees haha. also when practicing crosses lonners looked to be dealing with them quite comfortably. as i was leaving the players went in and lonners stopped out with the keeper coach and one of the other coaches to practice more crosses. at least he appears to realise this weakness and is putting the effort in to improve at them.

Was there anyone putting him under pressure though? I reckon I could claim most crosses if there was only me in the penalty box!!

Bloody hell that's novel - forwards practising shooting and goal keepers working on crosses. Never happened in my day!

yeh he was under pressure. the coach was crossing them in while the goalie coach (cant remember his name) was buffeting him with a pad (like the rugby players use in training) as he went up to collect.

I can confirm this as I was observing from the gate. I think it was Henderson buffeting him with a yellow 1/2 body size battering pad.

Some of the shooting was woeful No prizes for the worst of the lot,

Chilvers and Sedgwick the former of whom should never have been offered a contract.

Along with allowing Nolan to go (see his goal v Watford ?) this is the 2nd major mistake Fergys made. In fact I'd do anything possible to get Nolan back and ship out Chilvers.

DF hasn't said that Chilvers is being offered a new contract.

He said "we have an option on Liam, so we will wait and see with that".

How many will you allow him?

Do you want re-inventing?

Up your way Saturday I think seeing as I'm reliably informed Lonergan will be playing, that was my last opportunity this season to go to a Saturday game. A quick slurp in the top house then watch the practice trail at St Helena, then back to Ulverston for a sesh.

Fergy Jnr will have my full support however as you all know I'm not blinkered and when he makes a mistake as obvious as these I will make it known. I will now go down on record as saying he is making a huge mistake allowing Nolan to join Sheff.Wed.

We should clear out Chilvers and Collins instead. Then the four central defenders would be Mawene (cover only), Ward, Trotman and Nolan.
Obviously St'Ledger will be sold during the summer although with Mowbray departing Celtic today perhaps not.

its a long way from beaconsfield. are you staying with family enjoying prestonian culture or passing through on business?

Trotman's not good enough Huddersfield fans think he's slow, clumsy and very very poor positionally.

Your watch trained today..
Did he turn up on time. 😉
