Well done derek!

Well done derek!

Another escapee from the asylum prestonlad.

Perhaps you could put our success down to the groundsman because of our fantastic home record and point out that Irvine is not a good `away` manager.

Success comes from a team effort, there are many elements in running a football club, they all deserve complementing.

Why the negatives? Very strange comments with no substantiated basis.

They all deserve thanks.

Not being negative mate. I suppose Shaw does deserve some credit then for appointing Irvine. Irvine kept us up last season with Hemmings' money and this season he's got us on the verge of the premiership after being given very little to spend. Irvine and team gets the credit. The job is far from over yet though.

Possibly.

Would I be cynical in saying that Irvine was one of the cheaper options as a manager.😕

There's always lots of cheap options out there. You usually get what you pay for - like the transfer market. Hard to find the gems.
Irvine was in a nice job at Everton with no pressure and probably a decent pay packet as well.
Think a tiny bit of credit to Degsy on this one.
(Then we can slag him for everything else.)

Surely your 6-0 victory against them played a large part in that? Cardiff fucked up, but PNE still took the points they needed to take advantage, unlike Swansea and plenty of other teams who weren't in any position to take advantage. We lost 4-1 at Cardiff a few days before they played you, I thought Cardiff looked full of confidence, it was you lot that destroyed that confidence.
Rammie don't waste your time trying to reason with an obnoxious bigot. His head is well and truly planted up his own arse, and there it will always stay.
I just wish people would stop quoting him, because the twunt is on ignore and it also takes up space on the forum that could be better used by someone else.....anyone else infact.

First time I have looked at this forum.

The directors and management have done a fantastic job at PNE, as have those at Burnley, in getting their clubs to the play-offs especially when taking into account their limited financial strengths.

Which asylum have bennet, Yoga and Shaky escaped from?

Or are they just some strange form of attention seekers?

Did you see the recent interview with Joe Royle when he spoke of the problems in management today, highlighting the totally unrealistic expectations of certain fans.

Some people agree, some people disagree... And if I didn't have a realistic perception on these types of things I wouldn't have said anything to begin with....

Your opinions are your own, but I'd prefer if you didn't take the piss...

Some people love to shout as loud as they can and be as controversial and obnoxious as possible. I wonder why?
Then when they achieve their desired status, they inexplicably start to shy away, in a self mocking, embarrassed styleee.
'What, little old me, wanting to achieve fame on a PNE internet forum? Nooooo never!! I have a life you know.....got better things to do.....not a saddo.....shit fan..... etc etc etc.'
🙄
Anyway I forgot to say.....
Well done Derek !!

Thats an absolutely pathetic thing to come out with.. So just because someones got a different opinion on one thing they become controversial and obnoxious?

This threads just about to finish in petty name calling. Probably best if its closed.

Do you think it was Trevor Hemmings that got Wallace to sign? BTW as a percentage of turnover, the manager has been given a lot of money, add up how many permenant and loan signings he has made since he took over, and then work out how much the club will have to pay them in wages for the term of their contract, and NI contributions, all this tosh we hear about the manager not being backed is just not true.

Cardiff totally fucking up has been the biggest factor.

Don't you know how the system works?

Each team plays 46 games, 23 at home and the same away, and plays each other twice.

At the end of the 46 games, the top two teams with the best record go up automatically, and the next four teams with the best records other than the top two get into the play offs.

We fucked up against Soton (twice), we fucked up against Blackpool at home, we couldn't even get a win at Charlton.

So had we not fucked up in the above games (and others) Cardiff's fuck up wouldn't even be an issue.

Hope this helps with your misguided opinion on how it was that PNE made the play offs...........you seem to be struggling with it somewhat, mainly because with all the criticism you have aimed at Lonergan, Irvine, Shaw etc YOU LOOK PRETTY STUPID NOW..........😛.

Hence your reluctance to give credit where credit is due.

if i just randomly started hammering the keys on my keybord i believe it would make more sense than some of the utter gash posted on here sometimes. DS deserves no credit for us reaching the play offs? come on if that is the case why does he take so much critisism when we dont perform. granted AI has done a fantastic job. however only a few weeks ago there were some people on here calling for his head. we were in a terrible position when DS managed to persuade AI to leave a decent prem team, drop down a division to take over a team almost certain of relegation and to take a pay cut in the process. DS doesn't deserve all the credit but i dont think any one said he did. even if we dont go up or even reach the final surly the board, manager and players all deserve an enormous ammount or praise for what we have acchieved this season.

Benny, no need to lose your rag. People have been obnoxious about Shaw. Pretending otherwise makes you look foolish.

Also don't throw tantrums at Jay just because he tells it how it is.

As was Moyes, Davies & Simpson.

So that makes three out of four (including "cheap option" Irvine) who actually made the play offs, and one who narrowly missed out after steering us to a top six place for almost the entire season.

The one guy who probably cost the highest salary, Craig Brown, failed to get us into the play offs.

We could probably spend more on a manager without any guarentee whatsoever of achieving better results.

Bigger names, and presumably higher paid managers have not helped the likes of Southampton, Norwich or Leeds, (not forgetting Newcastle) in recent years have they?

I am not reluctant to give credit where it's due, it's a terrific achievement, but we have got there on the back of Cardiff fucking up worse than us. I had given up hope after Southampton away, you have no idea how pathetic we were. Blackpool at home and even the staunchest blind faither must have thought our last chance was gone. Cardiff making the play offs was a given, they needed two points from a possible twelve, they got one.

I have always said that you cannot deny the progress we have made under Irvine, you only have to look at the league position compared to where we were when we came here, so I condemned talk of sacking him when the going got tough as ludicrous. I have however questioned his ability to change a game tactically, motivational skills and public speaking. Some of the performances this season have been nothing short of dire, but you wouldn't know.

I maintain my criticism of Lonergan has been entirely justified, the fact he has looked far more capable and confident in recent games does not take away some horrendous errors and misjudgements through the season, you have an excuse for not seeing them first hand, others are simply blind to it.

Shaw, for all his dedication to the club and being "one of the fans" etc. takes the credit for being where we are now, if it wasn't for Gray and Hemmings we would be lucky to be still in the football league.

I love how certian people think Shaw gets all the credit for Irvines success because he appointed him, but none of the criticism for us being 10m in debt is levelled at him which the vast majority has come as a result of rectifying simpsons mistakes, another Sahw appointment.

Yet again, it seems all the people criticising Shaky, Bennett and Preston Lad for expressing their opinions are just as one eyed and myopic as they claim those 3 are being, its just the other eye they have open. This forum is full of pricks.

My 2 cents for what its worth. Shaw has done a decent job. He backs his manager to the best of his ability, whoever it is and he gives them time to try and sort out their problems. Admirable qualities IMOand ones that possibly help towards success. But hes not perfect. Theres not a good PR or marketing bone in his body. His press statements often alienate large number of fans with their negativity and borderline defeatism. Theres no commuinication with the fans about where the clubs ambitions lie etc etc and this will always to to speculation and conjecture. The admin side of the club is fucking awful at times, how many times have any of you been to a tuesday night calrling cup gmae or reserve match and missed 10 minutes because no one has a clue about demand and no ticket offices are open and queues are round the block? How many people have a bad ticket office story in general? These are the fault of Ben Rhodes IMO, but Degsy continues to employ this man despite the fact he looks lik a true incompetent.

Those will always play second fiddle to on the field activities, and sometimes thats a justifiable argument, but the matchday experience (not just the football on show, but everything form getting your tickets to standard of catering etc etc) is fucking awful at times, and IMO DS takes some of the responsisibility for that, and its this kind of thing, that gives floating/neutrals excuses to not re attend at a time where we need every single body through the door as possible.

Just one last thought on the financial backing argument, many people will no doubt think that making the play offs now excuses not bringing anyone in in jan. Yet weve all seen the masive impact Williamson has had once hes settled. Now williamson whas brought in, effectively, in april. Imagine were we could be had he been brought in in Feb.

Its possible, we could be celebrating automatic right now! Nobody will ever know the truth because its been and gone, but noone can disprove that might be the case. If we could though, would you say DS did the right thing then?

But you don't have the brains to see further than the end of your nose, and also even if it is proven you are wrong, you will not move from your polarised position on any issue.

I've never known a group of people so angry days after a great, and totally unexpected, achievement.

It's pretty clear to me who the bitter ones are on this thread. 😱

Where did the photo from Degsys barbecue go?

More pathetic sycophancy from the wanker on the mod team.

Edit; Just been on Shinnys site, he's bragging about it on there, what a pathetic cunt.

I have removed a couple of remaining posts that made reference to or quoted the previously deleted posts.

Simon, there is another clever way of stopping being able to save images but I won't say how it's done publicly. It would still be possible for people to get round it but it would make it harder work and then only if they know how to do it.

Mike

Get rid of the cunt mods, he'll be the death of this otherwise excellent website.
