original figures of course. over the years the same seats and the same terraces somewhat shrunk to around the 17,000 mark, after police, health and safety and ground safety officers stuck their noses in.

there's a few pics in the links in the thread, but i'm sure there are many others out there. Used to be an experience regularly playing on the plastic pitch, with the empty stands around you, with the echos reverberating around you looking up at the PNEFC Lamb & that big old clock !!! oh and sat in the dugouts having a fag at half time.....

Thanks I remember standing with my dearly departed Dad on that wonderful terrace and my lad at the age of two playing with his car toys laid across the steps whilst I tried to enjoy the match - wonderful memories.

Is your name John Beck by any chance?

And now is it the other way round, with your lad watching the footy whilst you entertain yourself playing with your toys?

Ended up being 14,700 (total ground capacity) in 1994, 14036 turned up against blackpool that year. Blew a gale and we won 1-0. Remember it well, but saw nowt because it was heaving.

Remember seeing Alex Sabella the first of the Argentinian players across here scroring a belter for Sheff Utd at the Kop End - he was some player.

Remember hearing Ricky Thompsons leg break versus newcastle - what a loss of such a talent.

Remember the Rotherham Fans running from the Kop / clambering across to half way line and running out of the ground via the west stand - what was all that about.
