When was our last "exciting" signing?

When was our last "exciting" signing?

34 year old has been, cruciate ligament injured Ashbee with an apparent attitude problem. If that one doesn't get you genuinely excited then nothing ever will.

Stop moaning and rejoice at this magnificent and visionary signing by Brown. It should also be celebrated that he will be contracted to PNE until he's 36. Now that will send the fear of God into the opposition. In other words
a truly abysmal and lamentable signing.

How old's Grezza?

Probably the most exciting incoming transfer that some of the older supporters on here may recall is that of Jim Forrest from Glasgow Rangers in 1967.

He had scored a total of 145 goals in 163 games for Rangers, scoring his 50th goal in his 45th appearance, at a time when football was nowhere near as bad as it is today north of the border.

Just two seasons before joining North End he had scored 57 goals in cup and league games for Rangers. The guy just couldn't stop scoring.

What a flop he turned out to be............scored just three times in 28 appearances for North End, then to rub salt into the wound, once we shipped him back to Scotland, scored 44 more times for Aberdeen in 128 games.

That's why he's captained his team in every league up to the Prem?

Ian Bogie "the next Gazza" got me quite excitied and I suppose I could have knocked one out when I herd about Iwelumo....but not to be!

Ricardo fuller

He turned out to be an exciting signing, but most of us did not realise at the time. Despite the later problems, and the 'Leeds' incident, the last big signing was Healey. But you never forget your first......Clive Clarke in the 70's.
