He's been dreadful for months. Genuinely awful. I can't remember the last time he had a decent game.

Captain as well. Supposed to be leader on the park but hasn't got a clue.

Don't know if the captaincy is weighing on him or if he is just that bad.

Either way the thought of watching him for the next number of years is scary.

Couldn't tell if was gobbing off at the Finney crowd when they boo'd him or at Hughes.

It was 100% aimed at the Finney and although he was very poor yesterday, I can't really blame him. He didn't have much else on and was on his 'wrong side', so the correct option was to go back to Cornell and start again.

The level of booing and groaning was OTT but was obviously as a result of the utter dross that was being served up by the whole team.

I genuinely don’t think it’s a lack of effort or desire, I just think he isn’t good enough.

You can’t press with him as he’s too slow and the opposition will either beat the press and/or he’s then too slow to recover which means you then want him as a deep lying playmaker but his passing range is literally 10-15 yards left, right or back.

Whiteman is not captain material. Watch his interviews on ifollow. He doesn't even believe what he's saying. There's no conviction.

No way he can convince anyone else when he can't even convince himself.

And I like Heckingbottom & McCall, they are demanding character, determination, desire, winning mentality, all the attrubutes you need to be winners.

But if they can't see that Whiteman doesn't possess any of these attributes and they choose him for captain, then it's a bit of a concern.

Iv'e said it before
But
IMO Whiteman before this latest contract was winding it down, was offered a new one, was holding out but then got injured and at some stage during his rehabilitation realised he had lost something, wasn't going to be the Player he was - and then couldn't wait to sign and snatch Ridsdales hand off.
Why in the light of his injury we also didn't reappraise is another massive lazy Ridsdale mistake.

yes he did.......

MADS never bothered to .... but then again he wasnt bothered all game..

Mads has done his hamstring.

Whiteman and most of the team barely crossed the half way line and buggered off.

Ched came right over and encouraged others to do so.

Milly tried to reason with some fans giving them stick and he got a positive response.

Gibson, Stefi, Theo Mawane and i thinkBrady where the only others who stayed to properly acknowledge and face up to the fans.

Whiteman was nowhere be bloody seen along with Hughes, Storey, Lindsay, Riis and co all had long gone.

Lindsay is in that video to be fair to him.

most of them came over to near the penalty area..........incl BW who was one of the first........
the fans were booing / jeering and as half the team turned to walk away it was Ched who came further forward to give his applause.....others who had been slower coming across such as Brady / Thor - came forward to join him.......

most of them performed better today and looked more committed than against QPR.... but our No. 10 wasnt one of them.....

Sorry, but to single out one player is not on.

Look at this photo.... they did the bare minimum and scurried off.

Credit to Ched and those in this picture.

The rest of them can get bent.

As captain, he should have been leading the team over and showing appreciation for the fans.
