I defy anyone to look at those reactions with the Finney and the Town End and tell me he shouldn’t have the armband. Especially all you who think passion should be the defining characteristic of a captain. Shame there probably won’t be any replays
POTS so far. Even if he wasn’t at his best tonight

Last season he was dreadful. However, his choice as captain was never in doubt in my opinion if he was playing. He clearly had the support of his team mates and a manager doesn’t pick a captain who doesn’t command respect in the dressing room (unless his first name is Graham and his second name is Westley).I defy anyone to look at those reactions with the Finney and the Town End and tell me he shouldn’t have the armband. We, and he, were always going to miss McCann tonight.
100% the passion was as good as the most loyal fan.I defy anyone to look at those reactions with the Finney and the Town End and tell me he shouldn’t have the armband. Especially all you who think passion should be the defining characteristic of a captain. Shame there probably won’t be any replays

Starting to see a captain!
I've been so critical of him, but this season he's been excellent.
Every credit to him!
Me too. It’s like he’s suddenly grown into the role of captain ever since that Liverpool game when he walked across the pitch by himself. You can hear how much more confident he is when he speaks too - he’s really bought into the PH project.
Hats off - he’s having a belter of a season.

I thought he was a bit below par against Birmingham, but tonight, especially 2nd half, excellent. I see he was overlooked for the majority of the free kicks and corners, the correct decision imo.
Also happy to eat humble pie.
Keep it up Ben. Having a class season.
Anyone who hasn’t listened to the club podcast with him on as well, give it a go, he comes across really well.

Got to be a leading contender for PotY, based on the first half of the season.

You mean a leading contender for runner up to PotY behind Iversen. Not a bookie in the world would take a bet against big Dan getting that award already.Got to be a leading contender for PotY, based on the first half of the season.

Dan’s another leading contender for sure. In front ATM I’d agree - but not head & shoulders imo.You mean a leading contender for runner up to PotY behind Iversen. Not a bookie in the world would take a bet against big Dan getting that award already.

Iversen will probably get it but there could be quite a few worthy contenders this season - not often we can say that.
I believe he hated playing football under Ryan Lowe, especially as he wasn't fully fit.
You can see the joy back in his game, and the passing ability that made us sign him. Gone are the days of getting the ball and looking for Alvaro or KKH. He's looking to get it into Devine and Dobbin early at every opportunity now.

That through ball to Dobbin against Oxford, where Dobbin just had it nicked off his feet, was awesome.I believe he hated playing football under Ryan Lowe, especially as he wasn't fully fit.
