Looking at how the midfield has misfired all season but more disappointingly of late I would be hugely disappointed if TONGE does not start tomorrow.

Alan IRVINE has said that he is not a lover of the loan market so he must have got him with a view to a permamnent deal

A midfield of Wallace, Tonge, carter/chappers/shumi and Parry is a better looking option than we have had of late.

It is going to be a tough test tomorrow night but Scunthorpe recently turned them over.

i just hope the minority interbred clowns don't boo CARROLL as he is most likely to score if they do

I'd imagine he would start him, he has little choice these days.

Heres hoping he has a similiar impact to what Williamson had.

Also, I'll be clapping Andy Carroll. I said when he was here that yes he's pretty shit but that's only because he is too young. He looks a decent striker now. That's Simpson's fault for playing him before he was ready.

He was raw and not ready then. But I recall we beat about 5 other clubs to get him so I expect him getting some games was part of the deal.

Thanks to my exemplary genepool, I'm going to claim an exemption and implore myself to boo heavily.

Reason: He was horrifically lazy when at our club and didn't even pretend to give a shit. Him and Gallagher swanned around with self-importance and represented the keystone of that season's relegation bid. Even Paul Simpson said he was lazy, and by all accounts Simpson's training methods involved turning up in the mid-morning and spending 10 minutes playing headers and volleys with Billy Barr in goal.

Why doesn't Alan Irvine like loans? Because he selected Andy Carroll against Sheffield Wednesday, and saw what happens when someone who doesn't care is in the side.

What is the point of bringing in a youngster from a premiership team if you are not going to play him?

Agree with point one. 2nd point - Carroll had a few good games. Leicester at home he won EVERYTHING and did very well. Poorly managed maybe but he wouldn't be the good un he is now without these learning curves at Deepdale.

Targetmen are the bee's knee's in this division. Ask a certain Al "Bundy" Irvine!!

Re: Carroll, he comes across as a bit of a twat, plus he didn't do a great deal at PNE to cover himself in glory, unless you count being arrested as an acheivement. Sat in front of him at one game in the STFS and he didn't seem to care that he hadn't even made the squad.

For some young players, willing to learn and with the right attitude, a loan to a lower league can be the making of them. I'm afraid in Carrolls case, he is destined for a career of under acheivement, which will end in him failing at Premier league and then slowly dropping down the divisions. If he's lucky he'll establish himself at Championship level for a few years.

id never bet on it but i wonder what the odds are on him bagging first? i might have a do at half time full time tommorow night. usuall

I note that on the offish site Davidson mentions he is cover for Nicholson...so I wouldn`t be surprised if he`s only here for the short term.

Tonge is only here on the short-term, its cover for Nicholson who's due back mid-January.

Heard this morning however we've got to sell a "sizeable" assett again in January to help balance the books; so the chances of buying him is practically zero.
