Re: worst player?
exactly, anyone that thinks Anderson was crap remember boxing day v Wolves. What a goal! Think he took the ball round the entire back 4 twice. 😛
Don't forget if he was hit into shape (ie Clough style management) then he would have become an excellent player. Unfortunately Moyes was at the time a little new to management to be able to do this.

Ando was rather fond of the varied menu selection of a well known American fast food outlet.

Re: worst player?
Andy Smith without a doubt. He seems to have been here forever now on a 40-year contract and can't play for squat. Complete waste of money... but then again, who didn't think that when we signed a part-timer from the Irish leagues?
Quite why we didn't give him a 1-year contract, given his appalling record in front of goal and the fact that he was completely untested at this level, I have no idea.
Ten horror films out of ten for the hair, though.

Re: worst player?
what about some of the signings by john beck? gavin nebbling, neil emmerson (i think) chris sulley many many more. not to mention jamie squires. oh and gary bennett. and not forgetting tony lorimor. simon farnworth in goal, i remeber the first match watching kelham in goal instead of farnworth and the old bloke next to me said it was nice watching a keeper catch the ball and not drop it on the attackers foot!

Re: worst player?
According to football manager, which is more than likely inaccurate, he is on 1,500 p/w and his contract began on 2.7.2004, which probably is the case. By my (rough) calculations hes earnt 169500 off us so far....😱
Which equates to 8475 adult tickets (advance price, 7705 matchday price) on the AKTE!!! Thanks Craig. Thanks a lot.

WHAT a meal ticket he has had ....
Anyone care to add up how many Grand he's had from the Club - and convert that to Seat Prices on the AKTE ?

Re: worst player?
Wee Jimmy bought Anyinsah and Hibbert around 15 months ago. They have precisely no goals and around 5 appearances between them. Neither player as particularly impressed when they have played.
Their salaries are likely to the same as, or greater than Andy Smith (I've heard he's on £35k a year, by the way).
Neither player has the excuse of a serious injury.
What's the difference? Why is Smith derided and these players not mentioned?
The answer of course is nothing to do with Andy Smith.
It's that you're all sheep, incapable of thinking outside of your own pen.
Baaa.

Re: worst player?
Anyinsah and hibbert have the potential to become useful first team players for us, and are both 20/21? smith , it would appear, does not and is nowhere near the first team, and is nearly 26.

What do you base your assessment of the potential of Anyinsah and Hibbert on?

Bobby Mimms, the single biggest change I have ever seen in a player from signing on loan to permanent. I remember when he was on loan singing with thousands of others "sign on Bobby Mimms", then as soon as the ink dried on the permanent deal he turned useless 😕

Re: worst player?
Hibbert had a decent record for port vale in the very few games he played for them and, as a number of people on here im sure will testify, he has looked ok on his few first team outings. Admittedly hes not set the world alight at rotherham but hes got time on his side.
Anyinsah has looked very quik and direct in the reserves, and although hes very raw he too has an outside chance of making it at deepdale.
Andy Smith is yet to score in english football. at 26 hes 2-3 years from his peak (lol) and has no chance of making it at this level.

Without a doubt Tony Lormer, what a complete waste of time and space he was!!! And was it Steve Wilkinson that went to chesterfield in part exchange?
Also Andy Smith is up there, the less said about him the better!!🙄

Re: worst player?
Hibbert and Anyinsah have both shown goalscoring form in the reserves, and ability on loan (Smith was a failure at Motherwell too). They're also a good 5 years younger than Smith. I can't be sure, but as PA=L said, Football Manager (which is usually fairly accurate) has Smith on rather a high wage- presumaby because Brown thought he was going to be our star striker (He had the number 9 shirt IIRC)
Hibbert and Anyinsah were both signed as prospects rather than current players, and as such, they're undoubtedly earning alot less than Smith.
