Wallasey, but born in Preston.
Darren, that's Fergie junior, has only been in the job a very very short time? Agreed? He's got a very difficult job to do in transforming, an already over-achieving club, into promotion contenders via the play-offs. Not next season, but this season.
Already the DOOM-MONGERS amongst our "Loyal" fans have sharpened up their switchblades in readiness to cut the manager's throat. The man needs a lot of time to turn a very defensive minded team, built by Irvine, into a attack minded team with defence.
Mr Hemmings has yet again lent PNE even more cash to keep North End going, so PNE, under Fergie Jr can progress steadily onwards & upwards to the promised land.
I am patient with PNE. I have to be. I have seen this club in every division except the top one. I've waited decades & I don't expect MIRACLES from Fergie.
Since Gary Peters, this club has performed miracles to stay in this division, let alone compete with some huge clubs. YOU EXPECT MIRACLES? Your living the MIRACLE. Just be grateful your not a fan of Portsmouth or in my youth, Southport, Barrow or Workington Town.

Add Newport County to that list too.

We all live in hope at PNE, what else is there?

Defensive minded team? To say we just let in 5 goals at Derby, we're not very good at being defensive!
Obviously though, we do need to give him more time. And that's what's going to happen. So there's no point repeating the obvious.

I don't think people are impatient i just think some don't like the fact that Irvine was fired and some cant stand Alex Ferguson to the point they've taken an instant dislike to his son .Ive been around long enough to know you don't judge a manager on half a dozen games as I'm sure we all have .

Fergie WILL get it reet, trust me.

He has to play those he considers shite in order to prove that they are indeed shite, its called " give em enough rope and they'll hang themselves".

Those that buck this trend and fight for the cause will stay.

The next 2 windows, Summer and Winter, will allow Fergie to oust and bring in those that fit/don't fit into his plans.

Keep the faith - proper football is on its way.

As for the weak players and fans, FUCK EM.

Well said, I saw my first North End game October 1966, they lost! But I have followed them and supported them eversince.

Newport County are on their way back. They currently sit 14 points clear at the top of Blue square South. They'll be in the Blue Square Prem next season and might well be meeting PNE the season after in a League 2 encounter.🙁

i am happy to judge ferguson on a few games i was against his appointment and yet he has won me over allready.he has brought in young fast footballers has allready sussed where our main problems lay and does not mess about were replacements are needed, add to that he only wants to go out and win matches by attacking the other team, irvine was always trying for the draw first and was taking us nowhere and remember we only need one win to equal three of irvines draws. The players were taking the piss and didnt like him upsetting their comfort zone but we seem to be through that ,sadly nolan who is an asset in my opinion has payed the price, but if his attitude is wrong then he deserves the consequences. So in brief lots of positives a work soon into progress watch this space. Three home matches give the lads the same backing we did against the lashers(obviously will be lesser numbers)and who knows.

It's far too early to write him off, but as it stands I'm a long way from being convinced Darren Ferguson is the right man for the job.
