Youl mawene

Youl mawene

Probably the only current North End player I'd be genuinely sorry to see leave.

The rest can bring in much-needed funds or be easily replaced with cheaper players.

Neither applies in Youl's case.

Agreed, with Wallace and Youl, two players who would not of been my first choice to lose, but it will clear room on the wage bill for possibly 3 players to come in.

Times move on, and PNE need to move on.

FUCK SAKE...........
Not a good move on our half
soo much for the club offering mawene the deal looks like he been offered a better one by a LEAGUE 1 team....SHOCKING!

He was offered a deal in line with a much needed less money pay structure and in keeping with what he would have been likely to give us in games played
per season, everyone knows he has limitations since his knee ops, if he's been offered let's say 4-5K a week on a 12 month deal and turned it down for a two year deal at Wednesday then good for him, Youl's been a great player for us IMO but common sense must prevail in that he's not up to a full season and that 4-5K would be better served bringing in and paying someone who can in an area that needs strengthening!

Mawene to stay

Mawene to stay

ALAN Irvine indicated today that the Owls cannot afford out-of-contract Preston defender Youl Mawene - amid claims in Lancashire that the centre half was on the verge of joining the club.

The Wednesday manager said: "He's a centre half I know really well; he's a really good professsional.

"But we are quite a way away from being able to do a deal at this stage.

"I known how much Youl earns; I know some of the offers that have been made to him; we are a fair distance away."

Irvine clearly admires the defender who is out of contract at Deepdale.

But he would not be the only player to be out of Wednesday's wage range this summer.

Irvine has already admitted that some possible targets were unattainable for financial reasons.

However, it does say he's aware of the OFFERS meaning he may indeed not be staying, but going elsewhere than Wednesday.

Burnley?

Sad that he is leaving Have loved watching his cultured style of play...he is going to be hard to replace...But I think he is passed his best though...The Reading game prob sealed his fate..He was at fault for every goal!! Great news about James...But Fergie has a lot of work on to re build a team in time for August!

I beg to disagree. The comedian who was supposed to be playing left back was at fault for at least one and, another could easily be put down to Henderson.Add that to the fact that Youl had just returned from burying his father and I think the Reading game would have little impact on any decision regarding his future.

:youl: having medical today at sheff weds, can anybody else confirm this?

Yes. Check my confirmation of the wallace rumour 2 days ago as well. This one isn't as definite as that but I think he may be on his way.

I don't mind this departure to be honest.

As long as we bring in a decent replacement, I don't mind. As has been said, he used to be our best defender. Not anymore, the fella's crippled and has lost his pace.

If he goes it's a fond farewell, but I'm happy that he spent his best years with us.

It was all chaplows fault for the first goal he made a shocking pass to youl which he had no chance of getting, playing in Simon church

Youl Is A Legend. Although He Might Be Slow And His Passing Might Be Poor. Very Poor At Times. We Need To Keep The 'Fro At Deepdale. :youl:

he's gone contract expired on 30/06/10. Live with it and accept.

This might show ones age but I think Youl was a class act prior to his injury and I would liken his displays to those of David Sadler and Mark Lawrenson who like Youl are great blokes😱
As for his fashion sense and being French?!

Bring back the Gentry:gentry:
