Not too sure that Youl did actually refuse a contract and it has been suggested that an offer was put on the table and then withdrawn?

As is the norm the offer was on the table until 30/06/10 only but he did not accept it by that date and so it was withdrawn.
 
I understand that but perhaps there is something more to it. This was suggested by a former player who knows Youl well. I have no specific details but thought it interesting to post.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see the afro end up back with us next season. Or should I say this season.

You may be right once he realises that our £150k pa offer wasn't unreasonable for a player who cannot play every game. He wouldn't have to move from the Fylde Coast either!

We certainly need a 4th central defender, especially as we cannot be sure we won't receive an acceptable offer for SSL.
