Stupid question: how big a deal is this trophy?

Great for the lads to be doing so well but I have no idea of the level

It's the teams best chance of winning a national trophy as they play in a regionalised league and winning the FA Youth Cup is unlikely. Both teams are 3rd tier youth set-ups so it's the equivalent of the Paint Pot Trophy or whatever it's called these days that Leagues 1 & 2 compete in.

Unfortunately by the age of 25 the majority of the lads on the pitch tonight will be out of the game completely. 1 or 2 may make it as pros in the lower leagues or National League. With half a dozen kicking around the bottom half of the national league system.
