Eddie Johnson Signed (Update: CONFIRMED)

Eddie Johnson Signed (Update: CONFIRMED)

Well, whatever any of us think about our striking options as individuals we have at least got a bit of variety up there now. Raw pace in Johnson, a natural goalscorer in Ellington (assuming his motivation is back), strength in Clarke, workrate and technique in Hume and creativity (theoretically) in Hayes.

I just wish we'd sign a bloody left-back!

Hayes would be excellent behind Hume and Magic Johnson

This is true, but why do they not play to their potential?

Cardiff fans loved him in a cult way... T Shirts bearing the legend "I Saw Eddie Score" after breaking lean spell!

Also revered as the last player to score for Cardiff under floodlights at Ninian Park... as well as being the last player to score against Cardiff under floodlights at Ninian Park!

OG? Everyone seems pleased with this signing but in truth, he has scored very few goals in England/Wales. Not the be all and end all, even for strikers, but apart from Ellington, who is still short of match fitness and who has done little in England since leaving Wigan, who is/has been prolific enough to get the goals we need to WIN games? Iwelumo would been an excellent signing I feel, but clearly out of our range, so we have to hope that between them, Johnson & Ellington plus Clarke, Hume, Hayes and possibly Brown can step up to the plate.

If we score enough goals it won't matter who is playing left back 🙂

2 average signings in Clarke and Johnson - none of which have set the championship goal scoring charts alight in any years!

I guess this is the best we can attract in our situation!

If this was a boxing match, i'd say we'd be favorites up front!

This is a point. Callum himself would probably tell you he's been shit this year - the legs went a while ago.

Who knows though? The Johnson signing came from left field, you might wake up tomorrow to find a last minute deal went through.
