He appears to be in the seat at the moment, a couple of wins and he might get it to the end of the season .

Has now become 2nd favourite for the job with Skybet. Billy Davies drifted out to 5/1. Surely we can get someone with a higher track record then this?

Who on earth would put there money on him? It certainly looks like Davies isn't interested. Apart from Davies the other stand out name is Sean O'Driscoll.

Not on the cheap we cant. Anyway Betting Odds reflect a recent bet. In a small market like this a bet of £10.00 at 100-1 makes the Bookmaker suspect insider information AND HE SLASHES THE ODDS. aNOTHER BET AND HE WILL BE ODDS ON FAVOURITE

Hope its not Jones - just what we dont need at the moment. Scousers I know though are sure he's going to land it.

As much as I'd jump on the Billy bandwagon, to me someone who is prepared to work hard at being a manager and with what he has got - a Flitcroft or Unsworth, - would be the way forward.

I'd be happy with this appointment. Has done well at every club he's been at. I don't judge missing out in the Play Offs as failure. He also got them to an FA Cup final. I let my heart rule over my head though and backed Billy at 5's, Stan James account wouldn't work to let me back him at 6's with them.

OK... slightly off thread -- but I'd noticed Bogie was on the skybet's list for the Hartlepool job. But not immediately on our list.

Other PNE connections with the Hartlepool job JOHN BECK is 25/1 and Simon Davey is on there too I think 20/1
 
I wonder if people are randomly betting on people like Flitcroft and Bogie to try trick the bookmaker. Makes them lengthen the odds on other candidates (Davies, O'Driscoll, Jones) and they then back them at a better price.

I think its more a case of the bookmakers trying to trick the punters,its well known for this kind of market.
They deliberately circulate false rumours and shorten odds to try and get people to join the gamble,thats why you can get up to a dozen or so favourites for a job.

Davies was 5s with Skybet and 6s with Stan James an hour ago. So money in for him and Flitcroft this afternoon again.
 
Looks like my £20 flutter on Alexander has halved his odds (I got 12's and he went straight down to 6/1)- it must be what they call in racing a weak market!
