The Hartlepool book was indeed left open all day, which does make you wonder why North End's has disappeared.

I looked on 'Pool's earlier and noticed that they have a long list of possibles, down as far as Jeff Stelling at 500/1, but no mention of Phil Brown. Which really surprised me.


(Note that Jeff Stelling resigned from Countdown on Friday - his last ever edition... so that surely has to spark speculation !)

I was told yesterday that he's been sounded out for the Bolton job. As someone on here said, he'd only return to England for a Premiership club. Warren Joyce was supposed to be going to Hull until Man U offered him a pay rise. That's two possibles out of the equation.
