No doubt people will complain we only drew today but forgetting the score I thought we played a determined game today with pride and determination.

Looking at the goals first one was a harsh decision if a ref gave a penalty for that every time tthen there would be 10 penaltys a game!!

Second goal poor defending by us should never allow a man too turn and shoot!

third goal a scabby deflection after a piss poor of an attempt at a tackle by Barton!

Apart from a 10 min spell were we rushed and made a few rash decisions I thought we looked a lot better than we have in a long long time with 10 players giving 100%.

Look at the positives they played for the shirt today!

And Adam Barton one word LAZY

Although a lot of endeavor, I thought we never really got going.

Looks bad conceding 3 at home but, as you say, penalty was unlucky and you can't legislate for deflections like their third goal.

Plus, Zoko's goal was superb!

It was a very stop-start performance for me. People are clearly playing with injuries and when they're not fully fit. We're just making do. I'll take a point today.

Yeah it was. I, like a few others, applauded Zoko when he went off. Was a thorn in our side all day with his pace.

+1 that was evident agreed. I think if we can get full fitness we will be back on our game! what i did like though was when losing we wanted to score under brown when losing we looked clueless especially Bury away!

Same here, thought he superb throughout.

We did look to have a never say die attitude today. I know people are going to say, "Yes, but we should be beating Carlisle". Maybe we should, but we're making do, and turning a corner.

Onwards and upwards.

I couldn't disagree more tbh.

Coming off the game I said that on chances, a draw was a fair result - but if I was a Carilse fan, I'd be disappointed as they put in far much more effort...

as someone as posted we had several players playing with injurys and not match fit and players out of position yet we still fought right too the end. dont mean to keep bringing brown up but with him in charge we wuld have been hammered today great spirit from the lads give it time people it will come!

A draw was definitely the fair result. At 2-1, Hume missed a one-on-one and in the 2nd half Tsoumou missed a one-on-one and Doyle hit both posts with a shot and their third goal took a massive deflection. Other than picking the ball out of the net 3 times, Stuckmann had little to do, however, in respect of the performance as a whole, I thought Carlisle were more intelligent in possession and picked out their players with precision, whereas we were slightly random in our approach play and lacked the speed of thought – many players were guilty of this.

To start getting wins at Deepdale our players have got to step things up because teams are coming to Deepdale really pumped up and focused, when in possession. I've seen many teams at Deepdale play at a high tempo, whilst using the ball with purpose, whereas we often look slugish in possession and sometimes our movement is non-existent. I couldn't fault the effort or commitment, off the ball, however, they have got to improve when in possession of the ball.

I thought McLaughlin was left exposed far to often – I don't understand why Parry kept drifting into central midfield areas, when we were defending, and this was highlighted for their second goal, when Carlisle had 3 men breaking down our left and McLaughlin didn't know whether to commit or stand off and hold his position.

As already stated, Zoko was excellent for Carlisle and received applause from many PNE fans, when he was subsituted.

In resepct of Barton, I understand the level of criticism in regards to his work ethic, although, he does possess a good technical ability, however, if he is going to succeed here, then he has to try and find a level of controlled aggression when attacking the ball. He isn't playing for Arsenal, he is playing in the 1st division and we need every player to stand up to the cause.

I'd call this a pretty good summing up!

Great post. +1.

Point gained for me. Overall a fair result. I was pleased that we kept going, and didn't give up on it today. Knowing PNE we'll probably turn Sheff Wed over next Saturday. Good to see us score 3 times today wasn't it?

Great run by Coutts to set up the equaliser.

Barton "Lazy" on today's performance I'd say more like an " an inept amateur"
Not only was his work rate poor , positioning , tackling, aggression , passing, heading was all woeful. Apart from the odd touch here and there , he was a waste of a shirt.
Even though there were signs that the rest of PNE were working hard for the management team , a draw was a fair result, but I'm quite sure CU fans will be the more dissappointed and they were playing away. Caused us trouble with there movement , speed and quick passing.
The worrying sign I see in the current management team is that they never addressed the Barton issue at any point in the game, even though it was obvious from the outset , that he was not there today.
I feel a draw against Shef Wed could be looked upon as a good result of things don't dramatically improve.

Good Post Carlisle's passing was tidy on the floor and they seemed far more organised ....too scrappy at times from Preston , Zoko is a good player - I could see why the Dumbrians were eighth and yes Barton was being cursed and you could understand the frustration

Their penalty was fair : it was a shove in the back with palms up - people were jumping about at the front of the Town End ...it was like Rampton on a full moon but the referee was absolutely adamant

First goal was a definite penalty. Very silly and obvious push by McCombe in the box.

I agree with this.

Draw was just about right but we barely tested their keeper despite scoring 3 times.

I enjoyed the game very much you can't complain at 3.3 on Boxing Day it was a fare result although I thought we should have had the game won by half time...and at the end of added time 2nd half!
but I am afraid we still looked poor again in the 2nd half
Why did we wait till the equlaiser to come alive? the whole midfield cant defend apart from coutes...Barton was not interested 2nd half we were again 2nd best to a very good Carlisle team...Not sure about the two centre halfs together but the midfield was totally bossed by Carlisle all afternoon was not suprised to see Tsoumoo come on and miss two sitters...But the last few min were excellent and we could and should have won 4 3 at the end how that shot hit both posts and still stay out...all very happy at the end Alexander and
Unsworth kept their job hopes alive Sheff Wed will have to be a good result if they are to be kept in the frame and that wont be easy as another good team visits Deepdale...

Except 2. Danny Mayor went missing in action yet again a couple of early runs with no end product then nowt.

Just as lazy as Barton and when things don't go for him he vanishes from the game.

Barton was woeful. Mayor was very on/off against Carlisle; I remember one run in the first half when he was dispossessed with Gray up the wing in front of him, leaving us wide open. When somebody got the ball out for a throw, Doyle gave Mayor a right roasting. Quite rightly too, he needs to keep his head in the game.
