PNE-Online and Mental Health

Don't be afraid to give yourself permission to do something entirely for your own benefit. Whatever it is you enjoy be it exercise, cooking, reading, painting, kicking the cat. Even if it's only 10 minutes a day do something just for you.

Best advice I've ever been given

Haha I understand mate. I’m 24, lower back is playing up and I don’t do a lot of road running anymore after I tore my ACL a few years back playing basketball for John Moore’s Uni! Yeah might just need a positive goal to work on while this is ongoing. Keep me focused maybe. Getting back fit/ in shape. Cheers Pumba 👍🏻
Are you a Basketball fan? NBA? BBL? Were pretty few and far between in the UK!

That’s why I often touch my dinky

I have a big one

Big NBA fan 👍🏻 Watch the odd game on Sky but I love it! Now they really are the top athletes in the world for me
Some really interesting trades this time, thought James Harden going to Brooklyn makes them look really strong in a good East this year (although it'snot clicked so far!), Danny Green to Philadelphia looks a great pick up too. Lakers moving out Dwight Howard and bringing in Montrezl Harrell looks genius, Harrell looked too small to play C at Clippers but playing PF with AD and LeBron he'll clean up!

Who's your team?

Steph looks on fire this year so far but just can’t see past Lebron powering to the finals. East is looking very very strong though for once! And I’m a Bulls fan. Used to love Luol Deng who played for GB and the bulls. Then obviously Rose but the last few years have been absolute stinkers! What about you?

Charles Barkley was the man! So I'm a Suns fan. I tend to like players more than teams though and at the moment I think Zion is about the most exciting player I've ever seen, so I'm also rooting for the Pels! I think they're another team who traded well, Lonzo and Steven Adams are really good puck ups although I think they'll miss Drue Holiday over the season.

Gosh
That reminds me of my dads wagons
He had a few commer Karriers and some bedfords about the same size but I can’t remember the model
And he had a BMC like this. Can’t remember that model either
Edgy, err sorry, Lord Edgington,

I’m surprised you haven’t got one that’s been converted into a charbanc, for your holidays, to transport all your below stairs staff, in order to keep you pampered in the style you’re accustomed to.

Love Charles. Has me in stitches on Inside the NBA with Shaq, Ernie and Kenny

Absolutely.
Anything that you do that gives you pleasure releases endorphins and serotonin chemicals in the brain. It is these chemicals that can change your mood from down to up. 👍👍👍

Also if you can get out for a 10 minute walk at both sunrise and sunset it great for not just your MH via serotonin and dopamine but also your metabolism

Very tough year with travel restrictions leading to limited time with family and friends. Relationship taken a turn for the worst and work is relentless. Yet something I have done this year seems to have kept me away from the doctors.

I am not sure if it’s the increased exercise, the level of work keeping my mind busy or the small bubble of friends all in the same boat helping each other out.

I really would have thought with my past anxiety issues that this last year will have taken its toll.

Guess this post was merely to advice that keeping the mind occupied and exercising, along with talking openly to others and sharing each other’s concerns really does help.

Over 5 years away now and looking back to going home and being around close family and friends as the restrictions don’t seem to lift and the money is good but family is more important. Sadly most likely as a single man but lucky ladies back home is all I can say

Sorry it’s turned out like that OOOO3 but glad you are taking care of yourself as best you can. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel certainly

Sorry to hear that.

Lockdown is putting undue pressure on relationships, we aren't designed to spend 24/7 with someone else. It isnt healthy.

I’ve read all the stuff on exercising, and agree that’s a superb way of feeling better, but how about something totally different. How about reading? Or writing. Or trying some arts or craft stuff. I promise you will get just as much relief. It’s all about getting your brain an interest to deflect from the shite.

Keep smiling 😁
A lot of women are probably driving their husbands mad using tons of frenchicpaint all over the place, kitchens, doors, old cupboards, if it doesn’t move, it gets painted. Seen a few where people have bought old cabinets off Facebook market place and they have upcycled them into amazing pieces, think it’s keeping them sane.
