Summer 2022 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

Summer 2022 : Transfer Window Rumours and Discussion

Should, at best for now, be a 1 year (+1) if he performs. Can't afford passengers who cost a decent wage.

This is where they offer the likes of Woodburn a contract that suits pne and if they don't like the offer you say thanks for coming in and good luck in the future...make the player realise its us in the driving seat and there missing out on a great opportunity

It appears to me that Pne have reached the bottom of the barrel hence trials for Brady and Woodburn.Hardly stellar players to reward the increased season tickets sales with. You get what you pay for in life generally I hope you prove me wrong Pne.

He's out of contract having just had a very underwhelming loan spell in the pub league. The fact he's willing to even come on trial says the club is very much in the driving seat. He'd sign the first contract we throw at him.

Only two years ago, we wouldn't have been able to afford these players.

I have a feeling this could work out. The lad looks the part and he must recognise that this may be his last chance to make a real career for himself.
Hopefully you are right, but this is exactly what any club taking e.g. Harrop on trial would also be hoping, and I strongly suspect they'd be hoping in vain in his case.

Do u not think other clubs are interested n offering him a deal/trial? I reckon pne have just jumped in quickly cos of connections

Wants and desires are not the same as promises.....I can't believe the moaning over offering these 2 players trials on this thread....
It's like these moaning fans think they are personally paying their expenses
We're just asking questions about where our recruitment policy is going, if Brady now fits the model.

You don't seem keen to answer questions about that, preferring just to criticise fans for "moaning" (asking questions).

Interested on what basis you think he looks the part? He's currently on a career decline of Izzy Brown proportions. Looked a huge prospect but then has a number of very disappointing loan spells followed up with being released from his parent club. The report I read on his Hearts stint was pretty damning.

Our wage structure needs to be this restrictive tbf. Arguably should be more restrictive unless we find ways to boost our income

Fair point.. but the club need to decide the direction they are heading in. Do we want to bring in young players to develop? Invest in our own academy? Or continue taking punts on crocks? Identifying quality players is great but if we cannot realistically afford them what is the plan?

I really hope we can get Christie and Gray over the line as they would add some experienced quality to the team

This is the same ernest who still thinks Harrop and maguire could do a job for us....

We don't seem to follow a particular model, but Ryan Lowe has in the past mentioned that he would quite like some players who had 'been there and done it' in the division.

In which case, Brady would fit.

As long as everyone was happy with the medical and he performed to the capabilities everyone knows he has in pre-season, I wouldn't be against giving him a one-year deal (providing we signed another LWB too...). But that's just me.

You can understand the fans being a little sketchy given the signings we made last summer?

Brady has the makings of Wickham mk2

20/21 Season Brady was injured for a total of 51 days, all strains and pulls. Try getting a job anywhere with a sickness record like that and they'd just laugh at you. Push him hard for 2 weeks training and he'll probably have to lie down till Christmas!!

I’d say the differences being that he’s 2/3 years younger than Izzy and his injury record is nowhere near as bad. I think it’s worth a trial with Lowe hopefully getting the best out of him.

No idea about Woodburn but at least he's likely to stay healthy. Can't see any reason why we'd give a contract to Brady. Lessons have to be learned, surely?

The recruitment policy is what they said it would be......they've got an opportunity to give someone a trial and probably pay expenses that's it...there's nowt to lose.

Every team wants robust players that can play a certain amount of games so the competition of signing these type of players is gonna be hard.....all u can do is try which is what they will be doing
