Don’t be so negative…. 😉We won't. 👍
Because it's actually "garbage waffling".

thing is, i might have the most posts but Reg's waffling is legendary, when it comes to actual words he must be a million miles ahead of everyone 🙂Thanks for the explanation. No hard feeling.
On reflection I overreacted. I must have been a bit tired last night.
We move on. Onward and upward 😀👍
Now I know what I want for Christmas! 😉You haven't had to read them all though, otherwise you might see it differently.
I'm sure Ando will put together a personal summary and bibliography for you though. 😂

You’re top of the league, pal. The number of words is just like Goal Difference. It only counts in the event that two posters have equal numbers of posts 😁
Go for a pint with Ryan and you'll soon get 'em bach.I lost about 100,000 likes

I don’t mind that there was some consolidation of political threads. TBH it worked better than I expected. But if it goes too far, we lose quality of debate. For example, UK housing discussion, opinion polls, corruption etc don’t sit well with international stuff.
The Middle East conflict thread has been deleted (presumably merged into the Politics thread.) Never easy to define where to draw the line but putting every tangentially connected topic into one big mega thread doesn’t work well imo.

With you on that one Reg if it has been merged into " politics "....I understand fully why it was done originally ( and as you say it worked quite well to save some good posts ) but to do it with everything going forward won't half bugger things up.

PS...... We've now got a thread discussing building too many houses in Cottom and Euxton all mixed up with debate on the Middle Eastern conflict which comes over ridiculous.... What we'll end up with is one massive thread but no Current Affairs Section....... I think someones dropped a bollock. 🙂

If you’d any idea how much work went into sorting what we did you’d be more grateful than critical. We acted quickly to sort it out as best we could, or we could have tried to recreate the old threads and only managed to get through a third of what we did.PS...... I'm not sure they're being critical as such about what was done due to the system issue, I just read it as why things are continuing to be merged into the Politics thread? If you’d any idea how much work went into sorting what we did you’d be more grateful than critical. I could, of course, be wrong.

We really do appreciate what you did but that has nothing whatsoever to do with this point LiS. 🙂

The answer is to start new threads when you feel the need.

Someone did mate and it got merged last night 😀
It was a mess with teh original Tory/Labour threads being indistinguishable so that was the rationale originally, have pulled the Israel/Palestine stuff as an event in it's own right for now as should have done yesterday once someone had started the new thread thinking it wasn't being discussed.
If we took the existing Politics and made that UK and had an "World/international" one for generic stuff would that work maybe for people? Then if big one off events i.e. Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Palestine we allow individual threads, if people want "Trump said this/Biden touched my knee/Kim Jong-Un is a snappy dresser" it goes on a generic World/International Politics?

You mean the Palestine/Israel thread? That was for practical reasons, there was only a handful of posts in the new thread and several pages in the politics thread which would've needed at least an extra half hour of work to separate them out. Things just don't happen like magic you know. 😉Someone did mate and it got merged last night 😀

Ah finally..... Got you now.
Edit..... But you must admit that this will be a massive issue and should be on it's own?

Sorry - but Kim Jon-Un’s dress sense needs its own thread. But other than that, I think that’s a good modification.

OK. We now have a new Israel/Palestine thread and I've changed the name of the politics thread to UK politics. Going forward this should replace the Labour Party are Cockwomles thread, today in Tory Britain, etc. For other stuff which isn't UK politics related, please start new threads.

You lads did a great job saving what seems to be a right mess.... and I think everyone appreciates that. No need to defend that at all.
But once " saved " that thread really should have been just left open for " vague " / " random " political thinking but everything else from then on should have been allowed it's own thread which it was in fairness.
I reckon this issue is just a big misunderstanding and someone had a " blond moment " last night by merging the Israel/Palestine thread into just politics. No big deal Jake and thank you to you and your compadres for resurrecting what is/ will become a very intense issue.
