Matchday Thread PNE v Norwich City - 13/4/24 - KO:3PM - Championship

If you're reading this Ridsdale or Craig Hemmings, look at the game again and look at where it changed. Did it change for the better? Whose job is it to manage the game?

A good transfer window and a reasonably effective few games in a row here and there are not good enough for this league, especially when you come up against managers who can read us like a book and deploy solutions quickly to stop us in our tracks.

PLEASE hire someone with at least half a brain instead.

*Bristol C 1-1 Huddersfield

Whatever the negatives we’re still punching above our abilities as a club 2 playoffs chances in 2 season isn’t to shabby the likes of Luton Town are a mermaid football wise

We did ok today, gave them a good game but ultimately we are not good enough to get out of this division, we never are. We have a good spine to go again next year but we just lack that bit more quality that other teams have, Sara was a good example of this today.

Tactical suicide today. Another must win game were the opposition keeper barely breaks a sweat. Our consistency at being disappointing should win awards.

This is the frustrating part.

Threat from set pieces, but bar 15 minutes at the end of the Huddersfield game we have offered naff all threat from open play in the last 4 games

So we're now in the league of being satisfied that we've skirted around the very edges of a very unlikely play off chance with 5 games to go? Thats the very definition of a mid table club

Bringing on another forward a sensible call, Osmajic to RWB madness. Brady was knackered too. No sign of Best at all.

Norwich were terrible and still nicked it. So much went wrong in the second half, and that's playoffs over.

Mads didn’t have a great game. But hooking him off was a criminal decision. Lost all our shape after that
Yep. It's no coincidence that we struggled to find any space once he went off. He's such an intelligent player so he makes finding space look easy. Was he a bit off his game in terms of passing today? Yes. Did that warrant being hooked ahead of Keane for instance? Definitely not. But Ryan has his favourites and the rules are clearly different for them.
Anyway, we deserve what we've got. Blew it against Stoke and were given a second chance. Refused to even try and get the win at Watford and we're given another chance. Today we went down with a whimper. It felt flat all round - probably because we've seen it all before and there was little on the pitch to convince us otherwise.
