Interest in Milly has cooled
Seems a few European teams thought they could get him for a steal but our asking price took them by surprise now they have backed off

If Armstrong is going out anywhere on loan it will be to us, that is pretty much agreed, only question is will he be allowed out on loan ?
Will go down to the last day as others have said.

We have enquired about a number of strikers (Cannon being one) but appears our budget is next to nothing so leading to a lot of dead ends. Club working hard to come up with ways to get someone in without a huge (or even modest !) initial outlay. Ideally want a loan to buy. Possibilities should open up as clubs become desperate to offload people as the window draws to a close, could either be an eventful Monday or we could fail miserably !

Would like to move Keane on but thats probably not an option due to his current fitness, still interest in McCann but as per Milly club see him as a valuable asset and would rather keep hold for now unless a daft bid comes in, Whiteman also subject to some informal interest but same applies with him. Recent loan move for Lindsay from a championship club has been flatly rejected.

With the feeling Aberdeen paid for Jeppe, and the fee from Djurgardens, we won't lose much more than the wages we paid to Jeppe whilst he was here at the club.

Utrecht aren't due anything more than the agreed principle amount, sell on was based on profit, Jeppe didn't hit any of the performance based, appearance based clauses.

Last January it was stated that the Gibson money was coming out of the summers budget, not sure how much we paid upfront in January and what payment was due this summer for him, but that money needs to be accounted for with all the business this summer.

Offiah, small, Gibson plus all the agent and signing on fees, loan fees for Jebbo, divine, dobbin and potentially 1-2 others

The money in for okkels including the loan income from Aberdeen should leave us with a cost of 200k give or take.

Should in theory leave us with more than some expect, especially with okkels fee being somewhat wiped clean from last year. (Creates some budget regardless of money that appears to have gone)

On the balance sheet we should have enough to sign the player before close of business on Monday.

Ossie doesn't want to leave, PH doesn't want to sell. Would take a substantial offer to move the needle there and it's unlikely any of the serie A teams would be willing to shell out circa £20-25mill for him. He's our shit house and we should get him signed to a new deal imo.

No movement on keane, Cornell is still seen as an asset with the club, great with the kids, community and a good head at the training ground, always up for anything. Nothing solid with regards interest in any of our players.
I've seen some people not seeing Thor as a solid player, I personally rate him and think he will go for from strength to strength. He is best for certain types of games, those were in our players get more time on the ball.

Cheers for the info RSB, not getting a striker would be a huge failure. Its one of the positions we need cover for.

Seems T’Plastics are having difficulty agreeing a fee for Guðjohnsen as well.

Heard the McCann interest is not just from the championship? However it appears we value him a lot higher than what was expected. (Which to be honest, he's a damn good player and even as cover in a prem team he would be an asset. Going by current transfers, I'd value him over 8mil. Wouldn't suprise me if wrexham and Sheffield United were interested parties too)

Seems very odd for a very reputable Mike Keegan to come out and openly state today for Armstrong for it to then roll onto potentially Monday.

Highly unlikely that any deal regards the sale of the club is completed before the close of the window. Apparently it's past the feeling out stage, might hear something after the close of the window.

Highly unlikely?

I’ll give you better odds on Ando growing a full afro by Monday evening than the sale of the club being completed in the next 72 hours.

(Sorry Ando!)

Thanks for the update RSB 👍

If Armstrong doesn't happen , do we have a contingency plan ? Keillor-Dunn ?

Cheapskate twats.

We have to knock back any interest in Lindsay because we don't have an immediate replacement for Hughes should he become unavailable. If that does occur then Gibson has to move across to the left in which case Lindsay steps into the centre. I still find it a bit odd that we seem to have shown no real interest in bringing in a new left-sided defender since it is the one position where replacing the current first choice requires rejigging the team elsewhere rather than just slotting in another player - arguably it is a greater need than another midfielder when you consider that Potts and Brady will both presumably become available within the next few weeks. Anyhow it looks like nothing is going to be announced today - just maybe Okkels' departure - so we may well all be hanging on here as the clock ticks towards 7.00pm, which I think is the cut-off time, on Monday.

Really interesting. I was also told last week that the club were very pleased with how the financials were set to work out on Okkels.
Every club makes poor deals from time to time. It’s a rare day that a club is able to mitigate a poor deal to the extent that it becomes cost neutral.
It seems optimistic to me that this has happened, but if the club has even come close to mitigating the expense of the Okkels misadventure - then there’s some credit due somewhere.
