Proper footballer. Just watch how he loses his marker and gets into space. Pops up all over wanting the ball. And can score that with his wrong foot.

Lewis did the same thing last week.

These two and hopefully Armstrong too as the season goes on are proper footballers and a level above the loans we've had previously (at this stage of their career).

The key thing is they not only have the talent but they give everything for the shirt which is what is makes it even better to watch.

Completely agree. They are playing for their future and have a great attitude. Delighted they are with us.

Let’s be honest, unless we get promoted there’s no way Devine would agree to join us anyway. Looks like he wouldn’t be far off pushing for a place in Spurs first team tbh.

They have signed Kudus and Xavi Simons since he came here. He's at an age now where he'll be wanting to start 35-40 games a season and he'll be getting that here.

I see this a little like Jack Clarke a few years ago. He was in similar position, on the fringes at Spurs without ever realistically having a chance to get a regular run.

Sunderland got him in on a permanent as soon as they were promoted (probably 5m?). Within two years they sell him to Ipswich for 15 + 5m and also 15% sell on.

Riddler can bleat on all he likes about unfair parachute payments but this is first time in years club can get one in permanently with potential to double or triple when selling in a few years time. And far more chance of seriously challenging for top 6 with Devine in the team.

4.5m isn't even that big a fee to pay for most championship clubs anymore. Hopefully this will be the first sign for a while this club are operating in the 21st century.

How about a bit of crowdfunding? Hoz, Ando, Spud Bros, Michael Platt... I'm sure they'd chip in.

The only flaw in that is someone else will offer him twice the wages and Spurs would be happy because they could ask a higher fee from someone else.

Just be smart with it and put a healthy release clause in. Fuck it, put a guaranteed appearance clause in. Literally sell it to him as the stepping stone rather than the destination. He looks incredible, I just think we should be looking at it as a double or triple your money in a year deal.

Interesting to me that he says he’s enjoying being close to home (Warrington) I think. An important factor when considering potential young loanees.

Signing Devine would signify a massive change of transfer outlook at the club.

The Owners are slowly being squeezed into a very tight corner with this one.

They have obviously agreed with the fee involved in the "Option To Buy" otherwise why include it after you'd presume some serious haggling went on with then Spurs Chief Daniel Levy?

Its just good business to operate like this finally. Why has it took this long for the penny to drop. We pay 4m , he keeps developing , we sell for maybe 8m , its a superb model for a club like us. Should've happened 10 year ago.

Very good player at this level and we are lucky to have him. However, I think we underestimate how good the players are at top end prem teams. I doubt he’s anywhere near the first team plans at Spurs

Agreed. He looks like he has masses of potential but that's not what Spurs need. Midfield looks pretty stacked for them with internationals anyway and rumour has it Frank isn't particularly into any of the youth team prospects.

Anyone know how long he has left on his Spurs deal?

Apparently the new deal he signed was until 2027.

I refuse to think about signing him next season yet, just want to enjoy this one.

Devine and Dobbin together must be a nightmare for defenders - both capable of scoring worldies with either foot.

It completely takes the usual “keep him on his weak foot” out of the equation. Neither of them appear to have a weak foot.

A word also for Small, who’s delivered a few good crosses with his right peg.

This is quality that we didn’t have last season, Devine, Dobbin, Small and Armstrong..
