Have we Improved under Heckingbottom/Hecky Out.

I recon they’d try and tempt Gary O’Neil

He's not well-liked there after he admitted years ago he purposely got booked as a Boro player so he could sit at home and watch The Masters, so doubt they'd go for him.

If Boro want proven Championship experience then Heckingbottom would be high on their list I imagine with a promotion and us in fourth currently on his résumé, plus I think he lives in the Harrogate area so not really that far to travel. Think they might go elsewhere though cos he's probably not a 'fashionable' choice, whch is good for us.

I was surprised to read the PH is the 8th eldest manager in The Championship...

Personally, I can see Boro giving Mowbray another shot. Perfect for Mowbray as his last managerial stint, and has shown he still can get a tune out of players

10 points better than the same stage last season. In 19/20 we also had 25 points after 14 league games. No other season since our return to this league have we had that many points at the same stage.

In fact it's our joint best points haul at this level after 14 games since 06/07.

If he was offered it, I think he'd take it, but agree with @Randall Flagg , they seem like to like younger coaches recently

I think he’ll also weigh up things like job security and location carefully before moving to one of the ‘bigger’ clubs.

He’s most likely got a job for years at North End if he wants it, fairly local to his home. He could be out of a big club in six months if he doesn’t deliver instant success and constantly shunting his family around.

Also, if he does get North End back to the top flight it’ll be an incredible achievement.

Let be honest about this - if Middlesbrough offered him the job he’d be there quicker than you could say “massive signing on fee”. And who could blame him?
