M55 Incident 10/8

M55 Incident 10/8

So sorry for you loss , unfortunately I know what your going through.
I want to recommend SOBS to you.
I ve been attending monthly meetings in Preston for the past 2 years.with people who have gone through the same tragedy.
Just started to read the website,Thank you.
Have also reached out to The Mary O'Gara foundation and have already received support.

Been a tough week.
3 points tomorrow for Rach please.

The right Words at such times evade us all too easily, yet yours don’t @Gerona
It’s so palpable to feel the love you have for you dear daughter, mental health has to be so high on the agenda in 2026 and I am sure you will be an ambassador to carry forward any help, experiences and thoughts into the forefront of those that can make change happen.
From myself as all before me, may I offer my prayers and thoughts to you and your family, to Rachel, eternal peace and comfort is my prayer tonight
God bless to you and all of your family

Thank you for your kind words very much appreciated.
I am by nature a considered person and try to see all points of view.
I have an inbuilt mechanism to achieve positivity and fairness for everyone but this week has tested me to the extreme.
@JK has helped me and Ruth immensly in trying to understand mental health over these past months, a true friend.

This forum is a great source of comfort and knowledgable people who try and help each other in times of need.
I Joined the very 1st forum back int day when @Jack Daniels was a Woolley and Tony in Accy ran the original version. In fact back then I was Prestonia, a name chosen for the love of my Town.
The private messages received have been heart felt and warming to my family.

I wish everyone a good weekend and hopefully 3 points tomorrow.
My family and I are tightnit but are exhausted.

Love you all
Roland.

I know it’s not much help, but from me to you please make sure you look after yourself as much as you can.
In the aviation industry we use the term “put your own oxygen mask on first” which is probably as counter intuitive as you could hope, but there for you non the less.
I am quite taken aback at your obvious strength, I’m adding that to my list of prayers and thoughts if I may ?

Once again thank you.
As a Rail man of 40 years I understand your thought process.
I am fully aware that I will drop and throughout the day there are peaks and troughs and a lot of tears. Most tears are random something small triggers a melt.
These last 4 days I have used my inner Ribbleton core to ensure all is done correctly and timely.
I'm not strong but determined and focussed to drive change and understand MH.
We have been everyday to Rachels house and the fundamentals are now in place.
I now have my daughters 13 year old dalmation who I have helped raise since 8 weeks old. She's lost and pining.

The main focus is my grandson whom I sit down with on Monday and tell him about his mummy. This will be the hardest and biggest challenge of my life but will be done properly with the right support.

Off now take care

Roland

Honestly don’t know how you are keeping this all together Gerona but from the outside looking in you’ve been an amazing human so far and your Grandson will be lucky to have you by his side. Hope it goes as well as can do and thank you for sharing your story. It means the world to lots of people even if you don’t feel it just yet.

Ive put a heart on this but, in truth, really wish there was a tears emoji because thats exactly how i became when reading how youre going to sit down with the little lad and tell him that he wont see his mummy again.

Im not a religious person at all, Roland, but even Im going to say, along with @Lord Edgington God bless you and the little one, today Im saying a little prayer for you all.

I've been reading this thread for the past few days trying to think what else I can add but it's been truly heartbreaking reading it. I can't add much to what's already been said but my thoughts are with you and your family.

What I will add is that I've found great help and comfort on this forum when I've had my own issues and I hope you also find comfort as well - we may all argue and fall out over opinions on football etc but this area of the forum truly shows it as its best.

Just want to wish you all the best and take care.

Apologies for my late response, I am having problems at the moment but this news puts mine to shame. Like all other posters I can only add my deepest condolences and send much love and prayers to you and your family at what must be an unimaginable time.
As others state just concentrate on yourself and your family and in the fullness of time things will get easier but right now must be devastating.

Please take care and reach out to any of us anytime if you want to chat or just sound off.

Love and prayers ❤️❤️
