M55 Incident 10/8

M55 Incident 10/8

The day has come we celebrate Rachel's life and lay her to rest.
The enormity hit home throughout the night and tears are flowing.
George will be at his friends today playing and being a normal 7 year old.
As Rachels parents we owe it to her to give her the best send off we can and we will.
Again friends messages overnight keep us going as we support each other and Rachel's brother Michael and sister Charlotte.
12:45 at St John Baptist, Broughton her school church will be full of love.
Can I sign off finally by thanking JK and the mods for the lovely gesture in reaching out to George you have made him a very happy boy.

Love Roland & Ruth

Hope today went well. Have to say you picked a beautiful church.

Hi everyone,
Today was as expected full of tears and laughter.
Family and friends celebrated Rachel's life in a wonderful church service in St Johns and again later at the crematorium.
We really appreciate the love and support from everyone and the large turnout today.
Friends travelled from all over the country for Rach.
George also had a great day with his friend Finley and tired himself out.

You and your family have been in my thoughts all day Roland. Hopefully today can be the start of some healing for all of you.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your support to the Mary O'Gara foundation.
So far we have raised £400 to help others.

The online link is here

Today we attend the coronors court to open and adjourn the inquest until 5th January.
I will update again in January.
Thank you all for your messages and love shown to our family.

Just a quick reach out following the funeral
How are you and the family doing ?
We are all ok thank you. Tired, teary but every day at a time for now.
George is with us tonight and he's calm which is the main focus.
Support still coming in from friends and family. Believe the amount raised to help others now around £500 which we are proud of.

Thanks again to all
Love Roland and Ruth

Hi Gerona....just saying....keep us all updated with how things are going not only for the little chap but also the rest of you and reach out if you want anything or have any ideas or events etc....you would be surprised at the number of people thinking of you and how much help and advice and love there is on here. Thinking of you and yours. ❤️

Thank you very much.
I had a curry in East z East last night with a dozen old friends which helped and I laughed for the first time in 3 weeks.
Some are on here.
Felt guilty enjoying myself but was such a boost.
Got home after a few Peroni Zero's to George and his Grandma. He was looking after her till I got back, bless him.

I want to keep promoting The Mary O'Gara Foundation for their excellent support as It's been invaluable to us.

Regards
Roland & Ruth

Goodness knows you have been through the wringer and don't feel guilty about going out. Next year take George on a holiday, doesn't matter where....have things to look forward to and slowly things will get into the new normal...you will never forget your daughter nor should you but the gut wrenching pain will subside eventually and little George needs his family. Hope you don't have Delhi Belly today !!
Love
Ian

Haha East z East is excellent no worries there.
It's Georges birthday first week of October and we have booked with his dad to take him to Legoland and stay over.
He's Lego crazy and puts me to shame with the complex things he builds.

Hi,
Today is 1 month since Rachel's passing and it's been tough.
We are still helping the police with statements and liaising with the MH team on reviewing the process specifically around her support.

George is still remarkably calm and enjoying his new year in school and likes his new teacher.

Just wanted to update today as it is World Suicide Prevention Day.
There are many good people working to help others and let us all know we are not alone.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who have been affected and struggling.

Love Roland & Ruth
