Protest?

Protest?

What exactly are we protesting? For the current owners to get out of the club? They're trying to sell. Ridsdale out? He's gone when the takeover happens. Better investment? The window has closed.

If you wanted to protest, it should've been done in the summer by not buying a ST or not going on games

Protesting when your team is really shit is the worst time to do it. The protests need to happen when you’re doing well on the pitch to show that it’s not just slapped arse fans who are upset that they’re losing games.

As has already been said, a protest at this stage is utterly pointless anyway, they’re trying to sell the club
Damned if you do dammed if you don't.
I agree that protesting now is not the answer and there'd be something Lasher-esque about it. Protesting when we're doing well, I'm not so sure about either. How many owners will bow to the fans wishes when performances are good?
If there's no takeover, I don't know what the answer is tbh.

Correct, the silly bastards at the end of my house's sewage pipe only started protesting when their orange turds were doing rubbish. It just makes you look stupid.

Just stop going on, that’s the only language these people understand.

I guarantee you’ll have better things to spend your time and money on each Saturday, and you can still go on the away games where there’s actually an atmosphere (ignoring the fact the football is still shite).
It's bad enough having to travel 6 miles to watch this shower! Why anyone would choose to travel to the likes of Birmingham or Wrexham, let alone Southampton or Norwich, is beyond me.

The Gentry 🙄

The response to Grezza's appointment was generally great - with the flag appeal and good turnout for the Millwall match. Was this show of support really so pathetically superficial that it disappears after two matches?

Protests are more likely to drive away Zedan - and then what?

We all can see what Grezza inherited. We hoped for an instant success - but he needs weeks and weeks to do anything meaningful. If ever there was a time for PNE supporters to show some grit, it's between now and January.

we are a shit football team with shit players
spent money for once and this is what happens grass isnt greener
players are getting paid and cant be assed on the pitch
training all week to play shit on saturday
no protest needed, i think a trip to league one is needed

I would say the appointment of Grezza was pathetically superficial.

It's like the club decided to appoint him and Lucketti to distract everyone from the fact that it will be the same off-field staff overseeing the same coaching staff (bar two) overseeing the same players playing the same formation that neither the players nor the fans like.... and the club genuinely expected either a) nobody to notice nothing has changed, or b) everything around the club to magically become brilliant with an injection of nostalgia.

We all can see what Grezza inherited. We hoped for an instant success - but he needs weeks and weeks to do anything meaningful. If ever there was a time for PNE supporters to show some grit, it's between now and January.

And yet with a fully complete squad (and new £3million striker not yet match-fit) Heckingbottom got three games? He should have been given this three week break to get the squad in to the system and roles they'd been signed for, and then making a judgement.

But we are where we are, and what's done is done. Let's just hope that Grezza can get this group working for him and finds the tactics to get the best out of them now. Right now, it's looking like when "club legend" Gareth Ainsworth took over at QPR.

A protest against The Riddler, Craig H and I Penrose will not achieve anything and as regardless posts it could deter Mr Zedan, if he is going to buy us. I doubt he is anyway, I think he will be looking at alternatives, I know I would.

Personal abuse of those 3 is unacceptable.

Peter RIDSDALE is responsible for appointing the manager and he has appointed 3 bad ones so far but its a gamble. We haven't got a pot of gold to throw at people who we would want as they want paying top dollar. PR also goes out and negotiates signing players that the manager identifies, I have challenged this saying do you not as a fan look at them and say really? as in the case of lang I would not have sanctioned that deal we had our pants pulled down and he isn't that good at this level. Hecky had it in his contract he gets the say on signings and team matters.

Crag H is a different matter he has the money and if he genuinely wanted us to be more competitive he personally could invest more but he probably thinks why should I, he has got sick of the insults and abuse and at times stopped going on.

Ian P Chairman looking for a buyer but no a good communicator with the fans.

Sit in protect - doesn't achieve anything

You could have a silent protest during the game but that could affect the players.

Fact is we are team of league 1 players trying to survive in a really hard league. the faults lie with Lowe and Hecky for getting us in this mess and as much as I try to support PR and CH they have allowed it to happen and must shoulder a little of the blame.

I honestly don't know the answer.

The thing is, you can always find a reason not to protest, as a result we are where we are, absolutely lost and clueless.

The apathy that runs through the club, has unfortunately flowed down to some of the most patient supporters in football.

I don’t think a single person blames Graham Alexander. The anger is at the last 10 years or so of complete mismanagement by Ridsdale and by the owners for allowing him to spunk their money up the wall.

The recruitment process for the last few years has been laughably bad. The squad building this summer was shambolic. People like to point fingers at the manager in charge, whether it be Lowe, McAvoy, Heckingbottom etc but ultimately only one man has been in charge for that entire period and it’s the fat, ugly dinosaur playing at being a director of football.

I think the powers that be already know they have fucked up. They see the league table and performances. They will also be fully aware of the fans feelings.

A protest will only result in fans turning on each other as some will feel passionately about action being required and others will be wanting calm until Grezza starts to have an impact (hopefully) and the takeover gets completed (hopefully).

But The Riddler can only do so much, its not his money he is employed at CH and family to maintain things. I am sure with more power things would be different. That said he appoints the managers and the last 3 have been disastrous.

Archie
The fault lies at the top, the ‘buck’ stops at the top
You can argue that Lowe and hecky are responsible but they are not, the people who put them there are. They employed our managers, they kept them on longer than they should on both occasions. They sanctioned the funding to be spent on injury prone players. They sanctioned funding to be wasted on players not good enough for this level of football. They sanctioned contract extensions that fans know shouldn’t have been renewed.

They go on about the budget, personally I’ve always been fine with that but not with the wastage created by themselves for not having plans in place. That, is incompetence of the highest level.

I detested Lowe but look at his record as manager and it was actually ok considering the ‘budget’ he had. He was kept on too long, wasting a whole pre-season and transfer budget to walk after one game, but again that is down to those upstairs.

I thought hecky may be the answer? I was wrong he wasn’t, he should have been sacked as soon as last season finished after yet another complete collapse from January onward, but again they didn’t. They gave him our record outlay on players which was predominantly wasted on sub standard or injured players, wasted another pre-season to then sack after 6/7 games. Again incompetence of the highest standard

I’m sorry Archie the buck stops at the top, it always has & as much as I’d like to blame Lowe (& hecky) I’m afraid I can’t.

The answer? Well that’s another question but wouldn’t it be nice to see the back of those at the top? At least to start?

As you can see from the lack of unity on here, a protest doesn't work simply because there isn't a consensus of any kind of opinion.

Hemmings out/Ridsdale out would be a fucking start.

Look at how short he was at Plymouth and Cardiff due to fans turning on him. Here, all we get it 'it will dampen the atmosphere' which is actually complete bollocks, apathy and resentment have already done that.

Yes, I'll happily protest. You all should to.

But we won't. And that's always been a big part of the problem at Deepdale.

But The Riddler can only do so much, its not his money he is employed at CH and family to maintain things. I am sure with more power things would be different. That said he appoints the managers and the last 3 have been disastrous.
Ridsdale has left nothing but destruction in his wake at each and every club he’s been connected with. Moreover, just take this in for a moment or two:
Peter Ridsdale has been disqualified from acting as a company director for seven and a half years, the Insolvency Service has said.
His sports consultancy collapsed in 2009 owing £442,353 in tax.
An inquiry found that the 60-year-old channelled payments from football clubs into his personal bank account instead of a company account.

That is the person who Hemmings senior trusted to virtually run our football club and those now in control have conveniently overlooked his appalling behaviour. Is it any wonder then that after failing at Leeds, Plymouth, Cardiff (remember the season ticket untruths there?) and now Deepdale, the stink of his involvement should be banished to the history books.

He’s responsible for today and those who appointed him and continue to pay him a huge salary should hang their heads in shame. They were told again and again and again that today would happen but chose to underinvest and treat the supporters with contempt and disdain.

Well, chickens have finally come home to roost and the blame lays squarely at the door of this inept ownership and those whom they decided to employ.

But The Riddler can only do so much, its not his money he is employed at CH and family to maintain things. I am sure with more power things would be different. That said he appoints the managers and the last 3 have been disastrous.

Archie, please wake up mate.

Your last sentence doesn't fit with the rest of your post.

Ridsdale had Alex fucking Neil APPLY for the job post Lowe. That's insane.

I see this. I'd hate Alexander to be drawn into it all, he doesn't deserve that. But we can't just be silent and let those in charge get away with a summer of recruitment that is absolutely disgusting for this level.
