Club Takeover/Investment

I have stated recently my scepticism about this deal, the timescale, and the current position of the club to make any potential purchaser walk away.

However quite unbelievably I found out yesterday that talks were still happening last week, so it’s not dead in the water!!!

However nothing is done till it’s signed and I still feel it’s gone on for far too long and there must be negative reasons for this together with our current relegation threatened position so I’m still not optimistic about a completion and I’m sceptical about this potential purchasers qualities about ownership.

I don't understand how talks can still be happening almost a year on, unless these talks are due to our league position and a re-negotiation of sale price should we drop. Trouble is, the IFR need to see a business plan which would obviously look a lot different if we went down. Unless they have sent two different plans?

We could do with an actual update not one that says basically nothing like the last one.

If talks are still ongoing does that mean it hasn’t yet been submitted to the IFR?

Nothing can be signed until the IFR gives approval to all of the individuals involved in the takeover. So it's possible that the applications could be with the IFR, and that negotiations could be going on about provisions for changes to the sale price if we get relegated at the end of the season (eg £5m upfront, then a further £20m if we stay up at the end of the season).

Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford all on there arses....look at them now, look at the attacking football they play, we can only dream off enjoying that, a pure joy to watch....football business models hey, actually having long term vision and planning, signing quality young players with sell on value not our 'model' of signing has beens and worst of all injury prone players....yep the Preston/Ridsdale way....stuck in a time warp...the end cant come soon enough!

The frustrating thing for me is a decade ago the club absolutely had some of that.

Pearson, Robbo, DJ, Hugill all starting every week. Davies on the fringes but then became essential under AN's style. Browne also came through a little later.

So half the team under 25 and balanced out with experienced pros and more honest triers like Barky.

Got a great fee for Hugill and then basically lived on that for a few years while contracts started to run down for Pearson and Davies. DJ and Browne signed extensions and then both leave on free transfers as did Riis who was signed for 1m +.

So Riddler having full reign over contraction negotiations been a complete disaster letting high profile assets run down their deals and just implementing easy extensions for all of Storey, Hughes and Lindsay.

With the fee for Hugill TH could have consulted with Alex Neil and his staff about bringing in a couple of young prospects who we could later sell on for a profit after strengthening our team. Instead we ended up with zJayden Stockley who definitely didn’t strengthen the team despite his best efforts.
Later signing a pastbit Nugent on a 2 year contract ( a TH initiative I believe) reinforced the lack of vision for the future.

Henry Winter is beginning to annoy me more & more.
Shame, I used to like him.
Just to clarify (not takeover news) more of the fact that I get we're irrelevant to the national media but when
Robbie Savage was appointed at Peterborough he wrote a massive essay about it but 4 days earlier nothing regarding Graham Alexander's appointment.
Today he's wrote a massive essay about Burnley & how their fans "deserve better" yet 16 years of nothingness at Deepdale & we're just expected to put up & shut up & probably be grateful.
Maybe im just that way out coz morrisons was packed & they had no baskets & had to carry my shoppin in my hands & then half the self service tills was out of service.
Then read his tweet when I got home waiting for the kettle to boil.

Sorry to break this to you but we’re one of 92 clubs he could write about but we are so far down the Interesting list that we are just an insignificant club.
No one gives a shiny shit about us apart from the fans.
The two clubs you mention…. One is going through a massive transition from the prem and looking like it may be off to league one and the other is now managed by a media whore.
It’s going to sell papers and frankly the piece about Graham Alexander taking over wouldn’t.
92 clubs…. Were one and I bet there’s a 1 in 276 chance of being written about…. Or once every 4 years.

I would happily recommend Ryan Lowe to the Dingles or evenas part of a scouse double act with Gerrard , that would sort out one of the relegation places at least.
