I was quite clearly talking about the 'attending big games' comment. How was it the best Decision then? Away games are not covered in a ST/

I'm disgusted at the nerve of some fans, who choose to blame the club rather than accept responsibility for their own changed decisions in chaged circumstances
Towing the Derek line, as usual!
"Blame the fans"
Degsy, Degsy Rah Rah Rah!
Twat! 😎
It's a personal choice to suit your own circumstances, but to "slate" someone who decides not to renew is pathetic.
As always, you resort to personal insults rather than addressing the issues. Why?
Do something about it instead of whining about it, as I tell my missus, moaning about something will not make anybody do something, other than eventually get sick of listening to the same old shite and fuck off!
erm...amen.....but isn't 90% of your output here whining and moaning about various parts of the club and players?
I don't believe the decision not to renew is what people have addressed. More the tenuous reasoning and the finger pointing at what they see are the reasons for not renewing.
i.e. economic downturn and pricing policy for 16 year olds(the same as last weeks pricing policy for 21 year olds thread)
I cant see how the economic downturn is a "tenous reason" for not renewing in all honesty.
I know your response will be that the club is not immune to the economic downturn as well,
but the fact is if they want punters through the door they need to reduce the prices.
the fact is, a prize freeze is the very least the club could do (the cynic in me would add "as per usual" to the end of that sentence).
there you go, you answered the question yourself. Tenuous or not, people suggesting they are affected by something whilst assuming the club(it's suppliers, employees etc.) are not is a bit lame IMO
no disagreement here on that. But as usual the question is how. We're already relatively cheap compared to most. The reduction in prices may not see us gain the increase in numbers required either. The marketing needs reviewing though and some change to the offers at some point is a must, because fans now see the discount as the genuine price.
Plus the fact we've now had two threads complaining about the way prices change for 16 and 21 year olds beggars belief. Where do you draw the line on this, or should anyone who starts as a child season ticket holder pay that fee for life to shield them from any dramatic age related increases?
can you name one other service or retail industry that havent had to reduce their prices or create special offers to stimulate spending?
like I've said previously, I recently used to work for a furniture company who were hit 3 ways by the credit crunch, firstly lack of sales, secondly increase in prices from suppliers, thirdly exchange rate on the dollar.
was their answer to this to increase prices or even freeze prices? no it was to reduce prices accross the board.
what makes PNE so different to any other service industry that they dont have to reduce prices?
I'm not sure I'd compare the football industry to furniture or even the service/retail sector. Football/sport in general has teh difference of emotional attachment. I don't go shopping in Asda or buy a sofa because I've a heartfekt attachment to them. I do it because I need to feed myself, or need a new sofa. Football/sport is a choice, escapism/loyalty whatever.
Rather than comparing us to other industries, how do we compare to our peer groups. Are all other clubs reducing prices and we aren't? Are we more expensive than the competition(is there even competition in that respect though due to the loyalty factor)? Have rugby/cricket/racing ( or other spectator sports) all reduced prices, I've seen various promotions for some racing places from memory, but those offers seem to be the run of the mill stuff they trot out from time to time like our Super-6 promotions tend to be.
I'm just not sure in "this economy" we can reduce prices anymore, as pointed elsewhere, last years inflation figure has actually reduced the price if we want to split hairs.

No, in fact just as I was leaving, they were reporting a major increase in sales, so it seems the strategy was working.Reducing prices across the board sounds like a suicidal business strategy.. I assume they went bust ?
If you go in the shops there are reduced prices but its mainly on the crap nobody buys.
The fact is during these difficult times businesses must try to maintain margins to survive.. and simply reducing prices does nothing other than dig a deeper hole. The area that most businesses can do something about is their cost base.. and their borrowings.
North End are no different.. they have a fixed cost base (players wages).... and simply must generate enough income to pay overheads.. unless of course you think Trev should pay the wages ?
Whether you think paying players the money they get is good value for your admission price is another thing ! Personally I don't ! I think its time football woke up and smelt the coffee !
Entertainment wise football comes about 33rd after indoor bowls..
I suggest the football authorities just hand over all the trophies at the start of the season to Manchester United and we can all give up the charade of football actually being any sort of real competition... its just a money making business for one or two big clubs owners... the players and assorted hangers on.
No, in fact just as I was leaving, they were reporting a major increase in sales, so it seems the strategy was working.
LOL.. busy fools.. anyone can give stuff away !
PNE have a fixed cost base.. which is lower than the teams we are competing against !
If we reduce prices we have even less money available to pay the players wages and make signings.. and are therefore even less able to compete ! Reduce prices.. reduce our ability to compete.. simple as !
I can't criticise the club for trying their best to raise money.. but are we witnessing the law of diminishing returns ? As more and more supporters realise that even if we make it.. we would at best join the Premiership also rans... no real prospect of a bunch of nutters like Vinny Jones and Wimbledon coming along and upsetting the status quo anymore.
Money buys success.. end of.. and as a club we haven't got enough. Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool have enough to virtually buy all the competitions. I find it boring.
what brings in more revenue, 12,000 tickets at £250 or 6,000 at £350? 🙄
And which figure would spend more in the clubshop etc.?
Hypothetical I know, but the point is people are not renewing their tickets.
