We should have won, we'd beaten them twice, that was our chance and we didn't take it. One game of football, one win and we would have been happy for years. Those wankers up the road had one chance and took it. One game can affect you for decades

You’re right, that’s 10 times they’ve made the playoffs and not got promoted. 5 final losses in that as well 😳

Dele alli was class.
However the reason we took second was down to us bottling it. It wasn’t just the Colchester result.
2-0 up against Gillingham and drew 2-2.
2-1 up against ten man port vale and drew 2-2.
1-0 up against Fleetwood and drew 1-1 after missing some chances.
Win one of them matches and a draw against Colchester js enough.

Then the Colchester game. We was shocking. Colchester wanted it more.

Yes we won the play offs comfortably and Grayson and the team deserve some credit for that. However it’s the least they could give the fans after some dreadful results over the last month of that season.

Agree about the end of regular season poor results.
I should have also added that when Alli was injured I think around the 25 game point in that season their form fell off a cliff and during that period had a terrible run of results including a 2-0 defeat to us.
Anyway at this point in time they are down where they belong.

The point is more that surely every team would like to give the fans a performance like that but they rarely do. So unlike us (PNE). It was perhaps the most clinical and one sided annihilation I've ever seen in a play off final and it was all over in the first half making it an even more enjoyable occasion (could not believe my eyes that we were doing that). They were brilliant but Beckford was superb.
 
That spell of games from Beckford was magnificent and you could see why he got big moves. The rest of his time here showed why he probably didn’t have the overall career he should have had.
 
Ahhh yes I remember going to walk to our coach thinking of a luxury journey into the old smoke only to find out it was a tangerine battle bus that looked like it had transported the troops to the ranges. No toilets on board either. We must have stopped off at every services southbound often bumping into other fans from the premier league.
The long journey home was soul destroying regardless of our result. A day I will never forget.

TNT lost the rights at the end of last season. All games on DAZN. 7 year deal. I’ve missed working on the National League. Been a regular gig since Setanta used to cover it. DAZN have a reputation of doing things on the cheap with less cameras etc
