After the events of today and several arguments over social media (urgggh!) I feel compelled to post/start a new thread which is rare for me - don't think it fits in anywhere else as it covers a few things.

Ryan Lowe.
It comes as no surprise that I'm not his biggest fan to say the least. His reign started off pretty well to be fair and at first the football was quite entertaining - it seemed quite refreshing. However, over the past 18 months or so, it has soured very badly, even to the extent where I don't think any managerial reign has soured to this extent.
I've been most vocal of my criticism of him - the dreadful standard of football, sticking rigidly to the same system, inability to admit he was wrong, crap spouted off to the press/press conferences, general attitude (slumped in the seat at Burnley being one), rumoured fallouts with players including our captain with 400+ appearances... I could go on. It came to the point, certainly for me, that he was becoming insufferable. Obviously, I've ripped into him several times on here whether that's vocal criticism or piss-taking with one of my memes. These are of course not to everyone's taste - humour is subjective of course, but I honestly don't give a toss. I was accused of bullying - if some people think that then so be it.
I honestly don't regret a single bit of what I've said - I honestly just think the bloke's a prat with an ego as big as his head. At one point I genuinely thought he had changed - more fool me as he soon reverted to type.
I certainly didn't like Westley but even he had a use to an extent but I admit I don't think I disliked him as much as Lowe (controversial, I know).
Strictly on a football front, he showed himself to be one-dimensional and showed a reluctance to change, hence his shoe-horning of players into certain positions.

Peter Ridsdale/The 'trust'/Hemmings Family
Laughable that this guy is still at the club. Have we made any progress during his time here, bar the play-off win which was NINE years ago?! Again, I've made no secret of my dislike for Peter both personally and from a North End fan perspective.
Peter likes to bang on about the ongoing support from the trust/Hemmings family - now I'm grateful for their ongoing support but there just seems to be no desire to grow the club and move it forward. All the ambition seems to be is to 'keep the club going' and that's about it. I'm sorry but that's just not good enough - this is a competitive sport and there should always be a desire to be the best, no matter how difficult the path may be and not just settling for mediocrity whilst pedalling the same old excuses.
Peter has a proven track record of failure - you only have to look at the long list of failed managers under his tenure although to be fair, I think it can be argued one manager (Neil, even though I don't like him) had the life beaten out of him with lack of support etc. Not to mention a trail of piss poor transfer decisions, best players leaving for peanuts/nothing.
It's time for the trust/Hemmings family to wake the fuck up - get shut of this old dinosaur and formulate a clear plan for moving the club forward. If it means introducing a concept where we bring players in for small/smallish fees, develop them, sell them on for decent money in order to build ourselves up, fine (so long as we are entertained and not bored to within an inch of our lives along the way!).

Me? Well I admit I'm one of the biggest complainers on the forum. Why? Because I don't think we should settle for and accept mediocrity like a certain demographic on a certain social media site. We need to strive to do better. In the past 15 years or so, we've been bypassed by Luton, Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford to name a few. Hell, even the lashers had their day in the sun. It's pretty depressing.
Overall, I'm still not happy with the direction the club is taking - we simply can't afford to keep sitting back and aiming for midtable. There's only so long you can flap around for before you eventually drop.

Anyway, there's my thoughts so pick apart at will! 😉

Feels like the Hemmings are killing the club with kindness - we'll tread water in the championship (at best) until they and PR move on.

The fact nobody seems to be able to suggest a better new manager option than Alex Neil speaks volumes - we're just going backwards all the time.

The club needs a new broom, from top to bottom.

Sadly "you" are the problem!

"settling for mediocrity" im not too sure how long you have been a North End fan but if you think being in the top 30 clubs in England as being mediocre it probably best you find another club to follow as lets be honest your entitled diatribe is embarrassing, im guessing your mummy never told you "no", which if she had, it may have taught you manners and realistic expectations.

Lowe had to go, he'd lost the fans in the main due to his bad interviews that came across arrogant and self serving, coupled with some poor football but primarily due to the vocal bullies that purport to be "fan's" spouting their personal idiotic rhetoric against a guy trying his best- he wasnt good enough but some of the personal sh1te aimed at him is pretty disgusting. Im guessing you were also one of those cheering the fist pumps early doors too.
He tried, he failed, he admitted it and moved on, any normal adult would wish him the best...

If you had ended your post with just the Lowe comments i wouldn't have felt the need to answer your "look at me" thread! but to then take issue with the Hemmings group banging in £12 mil per year and quote a few clubs that have had some success as why we are failing is just embarrassing!
Im assuming that you have won at "football manager" and "FIFA 22" beating a multitude of 7 year olds, giving you a fine incite into the footballing world of owning a club?

North End are a small championship club, bottom 3 or 4 attendances, we have a turn over of around £7mil without the TV money, most football fans out side the elite just want to see players giving 100% and if a bit of success comes along, we enjoy it! We dont follow North End for the success, its part of us, my honest advice is go buy a City shirt, or maybe have a chat with an Accrington fan, a Rochdale fan, an Oldham fan, a Stockport fan, a Bury fan, ....... ask them what an actual fan is?

Oh dear me, “we don’t follow North End for success” what the bloody hell is the reason you follow them then? That must be the dumbest thing I have ever heard anyone say about following a competitor in a sporting competition. We don’t need other shirts or other fans views we want our club Preston North End FC to be the best it can be, it’s damned sport not a game of monopoly so stop going on about turnover, other clubs manage to overcome small budgets.

Based on your username you where either born the same year as me or perhaps have followed the club since 71 or even as per your post the last thirty years , if you are happy that 72 clubs have played in the top flight since we have over 60 years ago and 50 in the Premier League and we should all just be grateful that we must not dare to achieve / strive / improve or what have ambition ? then you crack on being happy being mid table at best in the Championship but it’s not for me , I think it’s an embarrassment the lack of achievement since the early sixties , a couple of promotions and no cup runs - sorry not good enough. …

I have no desire to go and support Accrington , Bury , Stockport but I do think this club can achieve what the other 72 clubs have since 1961/62 top flight football …

Thinking about it, I think he may be a lasher because no proper self respecting PNE fan come out with the utter twaddle pne1971 has.

This whole 'small club' nonsense is self-perpetuating BS - there's loads of 'smaller' clubs than us with an ounce of ambition who have been in the premier league.

Fair enough if you want to disagree with me but in all the years of being on this forum, never before have I read such a load of patronising utter crap.

I mentioned that I hardly start threads but obviously I'm a regular poster, how the hell can you deduce that this is a 'look at me' thread? This is a forum isn't it not where we can all voice our thoughts?

You have completely misunderstood my actual post and to suggest that I'M the problem is laughable.

If you want to discuss this face-to-face, I'd be happy to.

The chairman himself claims his ambition for the club is the Premier League.

I guess he's not an actual PNE fan either?

Steady on, you're going to incite a riot 😉

Seriously though, you're showing a huge lack of empathy. Luton bypassing us was the final straw for me. Can't you appreciate, even a little, that the Hemmings family wealth is being squandered by someone who has failed to move PNE forward in all the years he has been 'in charge'??

The more pertinent question is, why do the Hemmings family allow their investment to continue to be wasted year after year, without any improved results? That is a mystery.

I started supporting PNE in 72 all I can say is Hi Peter.

Sadly "you" are the problem!
Didn't realise Shabbagaz was the manager and/or owner of PNE.

You complain about bullying while also resorting to childish insults just because he said something you disagree with. Finishing midtable for 9 seasons in a row has got to be the definition of mediocrity. We are stagnant. We may as well be a statue. Life is for living.
Lowe had to go, he'd lost the fans in the main due to his bad interviews that came across arrogant and self serving,
Yes
coupled with some poor football
Some?!
but primarily due to the vocal bullies that purport to be "fan's" spouting their personal idiotic rhetoric against a guy trying his best- he wasnt good enough but some of the personal sh1te aimed at him is pretty disgusting. With the greatest of respect, all clubs have their dickheads but Ryan Lowe hasn't received any extraordinary amount of abuse. Graham Westley received at least as much abuse. McAvoy got booed off. All managers get abuse. Lowe failed because he wasn't good enough. How on Earth is it the fault of the fans that Lowe can't coach or outsmart opponents? Also what are you considering abuse? You yourself called him "arrogant" and "self serving". Lowe is a big lad who can and does stand up for himself.
If you had ended your post with just the Lowe comments i wouldn't have felt the need to answer your "look at me" thread!
So why go on about "abuse" being the reason Lowe failed?

Again with the childish insults. Also just because the Hemmings lot put money in doesn't mean they aren't wasting it.
North End are a small championship club, bottom 3 or 4 attendances,
Bottom 7 based on last season's attendances. Just below the former Premier League team Watford and just above the former Premier League team QPR.
we have a turn over of around £7mil without the TV money,
And whose fault is it that it is so low?
most football fans out side the elite just want to see players giving 100% and if a bit of success comes along, we enjoy it! We dont follow North End for the success, its part of us, my honest advice is go buy a City shirt,
No we support North End because we want North End to do well. Would you rather we lose but gave 100% or watch us win with minimal effort?
