Just seems so pointless if its true, these are athletes that are at the peak of their fitness levels.

I do recall that being said, also.

From what I could see, of the incident, Keane was tying to close down a defender, as he does here, and was stretching to get the ball. didnt see what happened afterwards until the ref stopped the game because of his injury.

Lets just hope is the grade 1 and he`ll be back quite quickly.

This is PNE, though, and weve never been blessed with the greatest luck, have we?
I'm just going to expect a 3 month lay off, and anything less is a bonus.

I have just read that Browne is the 8th longest serving player in all of the EFL. He will have reached 10 years with the club by the end of the season too. Whilst he will be the first to admit that he hasn't always been the most consistent player, he has been a magnificent servant to the club. Here's hoping he carries on his current form throughout this season.

I'm not normally pedantic but what the feck is all this doing on the Browne thread ( tenuous Irish fixture connection ) when Keane has his own thread? 😀

Don't want any trouble, but I'm slightly suspicious that MrHodgehegs tangerine is actually a tomato, just an observation happy to be corrected. Thank you for your time.

Hughes’ isn’t according to Ridsdale, same with Bauer. Not sure what’s gone on there but I was listening to FTF before and Jake was naming the players OOC next summer and Ridsdale said both Bauer and Hughes aren’t OOC.
The press releases say at least 2024, so I'm guessing that means we have options on them? Or it can be triggered by appearances.

Dropped a bollock with Bauer, he'll be a good earner here.
It's interesting that - according to Peter - Hughes and Bauer suddenly aren't OoC next summer any more, because when they signed their latest extensions in January 2022 they certainly were - and Peter himself made a point of saying so, contrasting these shrewd new 2-year extensions with the unwise longer extensions he'd given out in the past:

PR: "In terms of Pat and Andrew, they've deserved it. It's interesting we've gone for 2 year deals because some of the longer deals we've done in the past have come back to haunt us, 3 or 4 year deals. They've taken a while because both wanted longer contracts but they were both coming up to 30, and we're happy with the deals that have been done. First of all with the wages [...] and I think the length is right given their age."

That length being "2 years" but simultaneously somehow "not 2 years". 🤷‍♂️
