He has clearly realised he’s at a dead end club and what a bad career move it would be to sign permanently - we were told at the beginning of the season fee and his personal terms had been agreed - wouldn’t be surprised if he’s told his agent to urgently reverse that arrangement- he could blame him and is probably why his form has been poor since Xmas.
Confirmed Alfie Devine joins on a Season Long Loan (Option to Buy included).

I agree with this....He has clearly realised he’s at a dead end club and what a bad career move it would be to sign permanently - we were told at the beginning of the season fee and his personal terms had been agreed - wouldn’t be surprised if he’s told his agent to urgently reverse that arrangement- he could blame him and is probably why his form has been poor since Xmas.
He is clearly a talented young player and would be better off at somewhere like Burnley , Wolves , Derby etc

The entire team has been awful, expecting Alfie to feed off the scraps and be a game changer week in week out, it’s just not going to happen. If Alfie was playing with 10 other players at his level I don’t think we’d have seen as much of a drop off. You can only carry the others around you so long….
Relying on a high number of loan players when going gets tough is generally a risky strategy and a common, obvious criticism of any club.
But when you sign players on loan with absolutely no intention that they will become a permanent signing is just asking for trouble. We are not far off the last relgation season approach. I know Devine checked out a good while ago and I can only imagine (without evidence) that the other loan players have too. Much as Heckingbottom is doing a shit job, around a fifth of the squad will be impossible to motivate.

Any hope of us signing any of the loan players has well and truly evaporated now.
There is a huge disconnect between the fans and the players. I think a hell of a lot of damage has been done with a very large ordered of the fans turning on the players and booing etc. The vast majority of players look like they don’t want to be here any more. The match at Middlesbrough was a real low point for me. The pne fans were making fun of the players and actually laughing at them and taking the piss out of them about how crap they were (sarcastic cheers etc). A hell of a lot of damage has been done over these last couple of months. Arguably irreparable damage. Not sure where we go from here. Even if we start winning again, the relationship between the players and the fans has been permanently and irreversibly damaged in my opinion.

Interesting that in that Sky interview he differently even make any reference to the remote possibility that he could be coming back here again next season. Best strange given a free and personal terms haven supposedly been agreed! There’s not a cat in heels chance of that happening now.

He ain't coming back. Loan with option... lol.
Ridsdale got his excuse in early with his February sermon. 'Terms and fees have been agreed it's down to if we want to go ahead with the transfer'
That means when we don't sign him, 'All decisions are made by the manager and Paul didn't want to go ahead with it'
When the reality will be 'We can sign him Paul, but you'll use up all the money the Hemmings have allocated'
Watching the games Dobbin still looks engaged. Just doesn't seem to have the stamina for 90 minutes. Jebbison has been hot and cold all season so hard to tell if he has checked out. The Serbian hasn't checked in yet....Relying on a high number of loan players when going gets tough is generally a risky strategy and a common, obvious criticism of any club.

Feel sorry for the lad.
He has been well and truly PNE'd
Go find yourself a new club in the summer one that has a plan and will give you the best chance of growing into a good player. As sure as eggs is eggs you won't find that here.

The loan players have all clocked out apparently. Can’t believe anyone is saying they wouldn’t sign him. It won’t happen, but you’re daft if you don’t want him
